  • 292 - Wigan, Oxford and Completing 10km

    01:02:50
It's episode 292 of the Stacey West Podcast, and it's a tough one to record.Defeat against Wigan has brought our long unbeaten run to an end, and left our play-off hopes hanging by a thread. We discuss the key moments, but we do so after collectively completing the Lincoln 10k, a monumental effort by the team and one we're proud of. However, it does mean we're a little low energy. We're looking ahead to Oxford, more in hope than anything, and wondering if the ride really is over for a few months, or if there's one last sting in the tail. This Podcast has been created and uploaded by Gary Hutchinson of the Stacey West Podcast. The views in this Podcast are not necessarily the views of talkSPORT.

It's Thursday, it's the Stacey West Podcast day, you know what to do. This week, we take it a little bit old school as Ben and Gaz talk all things Imps, looking ahead to Saturday's game against Wigan at the Bank.We also discuss the our top picks for possible Players of the Season, discuss a couple of transfer rumours, and look ahead with varying degrees of trepidation to the Lincoln 10k on Sunday! A massive thanks to everyone who's contributed to our phenomenal total, we're absolutely blown away by the support. Of course, there's the typical Stacey West nonsense thrown in for good measure, but you'd expect nothing less at this point, right? This Podcast has been created and uploaded by Gary Hutchinson of the Stacey West Podcast. The views in this Podcast are not necessarily the views of talkSPORT.

  • Former Player Special #6 - Colin Alcide

    01:17:28
It's numbered 6, as we have previously spoken to Gavin Gordon, Mark Hone & Roger Holmes. However, this is the third in a new series hosted by Gary and former Lincoln City player Paul De Garis, following on from Matt Carmichael and Simon Yeo.Colin Alcide signed for the Imps in 1995, having to turn professional to do so. He had previously played for Emley (twice) and Altrincham, mainly as a defender. He was signed by John Beck, and pitched straight into a survival battle, which the Imps achieved,The following season the big striker became a key part of Beck's team as they pushed up the table, narrowly missing out on the play-offs, and giving Premier League Southampton a scare in the Coca-Cola Cup. A year later, with Alcide scoring 13 goals, the Imps were promoted to the third tier.Colin left for Hull halfway through the 1998/99 season, having made 140 appearances for City, scoring 31 times. In his later years, he played for Cambridge, York, and Exeter, as well as appearing in Europe for TNS. He even bagged a goal at Anfield for Hull City. This Podcast has been created and uploaded by Gary Hutchinson of the Stacey West Podcast. The views in this Podcast are not necessarily the views of talkSPORT.
