  • St. Louis Blues Lock Up Broberg for Bargain

    01:34|
The St. Louis Blues secured a six-year, $48 million deal with defenseman Philip Broberg, securing a key young player at an affordable $8 million cap hit. This deal, compared to recent extensions, is considered a steal, as Brobergs cap hit is below market value for his skill level. Brobergs value lies in his shutdown defensive abilities, limiting high-danger chances, and his low-danger unblocked shots are elite. The Blues gained cost certainty during Brobergs prime by buying out his early unrestricted free agent years, making this a potential home run for the team building around defense.
