On today's show, I take a dive into the most British of genres - Britpop! Taking iconic tracks by the Beatles, the Kinks, Blur, Oasis and others, I trace the development of British pop-rock, and explore how this genre of music reflects the nation's political mood, class struggles, and the spirit of the youth. If Britain sounds like one thing, it's most certainly Britpop.
