The real challenge comes when our circumstances give us reasons to doubt. When prayers seem unanswered, when the future feels uncertain, or when suffering lasts longer than we expected, we can begin to wonder: Can I really trust God?Hebrews reminds us to hold unswervingly to our hope. Why? Not because we are always strong enough to hold on, but because the One who promised is faithful.Our hope is not simply positive thinking. It is confidence in God and His promises, grounded in His character and secured through Jesus. There may be things you cannot understand about your current season. You may not know what God is doing. But you can still know who God is.Remember, the foundation of our perseverance isn't the strength of our grip; it's the faithfulness of the One we're holding onto. So today, cling to Him.PrayerFather, when my circumstances shake me, remind me that You remain faithful. Help me hold on to the hope I have in You, even when I cannot see what You are doing. Some are joyful and easy, while others are marked by hardship, disappointment, unanswered prayers, or suffering. And when life gets hard, we often face a choice: Will we run toward God or run away from Him?Sometimes, especially when we have tried our best to follow and serve God, suffering can make us question His love. We may think, “Lord, after everything I've done, why is this happening to me?” We may wonder if God still cares, if He is listening, or if following Him is still worth it.But it is in those moments that God reminds us that it is better to go through suffering with Him. Not because suffering is easy, but because He understands us, cares for us, and loves us. And we know that He loves us because He gave His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, for us. Jesus is proof of God's love. Because of Him, the way to God has been opened, and we can draw near.So when you don't feel okay, you don't have to pretend that everything is fine before coming to God. Bring your not-okay heart to Him. Bring your fears, questions, worries, and disappointments. Faith means choosing to draw near even when your feelings tell you to run away.When suffering makes your heart want to pull away from God, remember Jesus. Remember His love. Remember what God has already done in your life. And by faith, choose to draw near.PrayerLord, sometimes my heart wants to run away from You when life gets hard. I don't always understand why You allow me to suffer, and sometimes I struggle to believe that You still care. But today, I choose to remember Jesus and what He has done for me. It is based on Jesus—on what He has already done and on who He is.Hebrews reminds us that we can enter God's presence because of what Jesus has done. His sacrifice opened a new and living way for us to come to God. Not only that, He is also our Great High Priest who understands us and who gives us grace and mercy. This matters especially when we are suffering. Sometimes difficult seasons can make us question whether God will still accept us or if God is still near. But our access to God is not determined by our circumstances. Because of Jesus, we do not need to try our best to measure up or be worthy enough to approach God because He already opened the way for us when the veil was torn.When you don't know what to pray for, you can still come. When your faith feels weak, you can still come. When you have more questions than answers, you can still come. You don't have to earn your way into God's presence. You can simply receive the invitation and come.PrayerJesus, thank You for making a way for me to come to the Father. When I feel distant, remind me that Your finished work has already opened the way. Help me approach God with confidence, not because of what I can do, but because of what You have done. Day 3: Anchored in Who God IsScripture"Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged."Hebrews 6:17–18ReflectionWe live in a world where almost everything changes. Circumstances shift without warning, health can decline, financial security can vanish, and our own emotions fluctuate from day to day. If our hope is built on our feelings or our daily performance, we will constantly feel unstable.God knew our tendency to feel insecure, so He gave us an unshakeable foundation. When He made His promise, He backed it with an oath sworn by His own name. The author of Hebrews highlights "two unchangeable things": God's word and God's oath. Because God cannot lie, His purpose stands immutable.Our ultimate hope is not based on how strong our faith is today, but on how unchangeable God’s nature is forever. Doubting when life falls apart is a normal human response, but our security is not rooted in our changing feelings. It rests on the unchangeable character of God. You do not need to hold everything together today; you can rest in the God whose character guarantees His promises.PrayerLord God, I praise You that You never change. When my circumstances are chaotic and my feelings fluctuate, remind me that Your character stands firm. Thank You for binding Your promises with Your unchangeable word. Day 2: Looking Back at God’s Track RecordScripture"When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself, saying, 'I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.' And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised." Hebrews 6:13–15 ReflectionWhen clouds roll in and visibility drops, mountain climbers can easily lose their direction. In those moments, the most reliable step is to look back at the trail behind them and remember the path that brought them there.When we go through severe trials, God does not ask us to step forward with blind optimism. Instead, He points us back to His proven track record in redemptive history. In Hebrews 6, the author points weary believers back to Abraham. God made a promise to Abraham, but Abraham had to wait decades before seeing Isaac born. Year after year passed with no visible evidence, yet God proved entirely faithful in the end.God’s history with His people proves that He has never broken a covenant promise. If He kept His word to Abraham through decades of waiting, He will keep His word to you in the middle of your waiting. When your present circumstances make you question the future, turn your eyes backward. Look at God's faithfulness throughout Scripture and in your own life stories. The same God who carried you through yesterday’s trials is standing with you in today's struggle.PrayerHeavenly Father, thank You for Your unwavering faithfulness throughout history. When I am tempted to doubt Your promises, remind me of how You kept Your word to Abraham and how You have sustained me in the past. Give me patience as I wait on Your timing.
