Devotional 1: “If Christ Has Not Been Raised…”

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:12

“But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?”

Explanation:

Paul confronts a troubling belief among some in the Corinthian church—denial of the resurrection of the dead. He begins by highlighting the inconsistency of such a view. If the gospel they received proclaims Christ's resurrection, how can they turn around and deny the possibility of resurrection altogether?

Personal Application:

You are part of a faith that stands or falls on the truth of the resurrection. If you begin to question or ignore this foundational belief, the rest of your faith can start to unravel. Guard your heart from subtle doubts, and renew your confidence in the risen Christ.

Reflection Questions:

1. Do you truly believe in the resurrection—not just of Jesus, but your own future resurrection?
2. How does this belief (or lack of it) affect the way you live today?
3. Are there areas where you’ve allowed doubt to quietly weaken your hope?
