Somewhere in the Skies

Ryan tells the incredible story of Herbert Schirmer. On December 3rd, 1967, Schirmer, a twenty-two-year-old police officer, was driving down a desolate highway in Ashland, Nebraska. He approached a pair of lights that he believed to be a stalled vehicle. When he got closer, he realized it wasn't a vehicle on the road, but a craft hovering in the night sky. After a few moments, the craft shot out of sight and the officer returned to his station, noting the sighting in his logbook. But for Schirmer, there seemed to be a period of missing time between when he first saw the object and when he left the area. July 1967: two young men driving along an Ohio road late one night encountered an object giving off an intense blue white glow. Their car apparently struck the object as it lifted away from the ground. Samples of a metallic substance, believed to be from the UFO, were retrieved the following morning by one of the witnesses. In February 1967, the crew of a Faucett Airlines DC-4 reported being buzzed for an extended period of time by a UFO shaped like an inverted cone while on an evening flight from Piura to Lima. Shortly after the UFO departed, it momentarily returned with a second, identical object and proceeded to buzz the airliner again before vanishing for good.
