James Fox: Moment of Contact

Season 1, Ep. 289

On episode 289 of SOMEWHERE IN THE SKIES, we welcome back documentary filmmaker, James Fox, to discuss his latest film, Moment of Contact. A follow-up to the 2020 hit, The Phenomenon, Moment of Contact is an exploration of extraterrestrial encounters centered on a series of events in 1996 when citizens of Varginha, Brazil, reported seeing a UFO crash. The town of Varginha was cordoned off by military and emergency response teams and two creatures were captured. Fox’s documentary features interviews with key eyewitnesses, experts, officials, and Brazilian Air Force General Jose Carlos Pereira. We'll discuss the film, Fox's extensive research into the case, and then Fox will answer listener questions.

BONUS: The Thing (1982) - A Movie Review

Season 1
In a special movie review episode, Ryan is joined by two of his closest friends and colleagues for another movie review! Returning to the show are television writer and filmmaker, Andrew Sanford, and actor/producer, Nick Westemeyer. The three discuss John Carpenter's 1982 classic sci-fi/horror film, "The Thing." Considering this film had somehow eluded Ryan as both a filmmaker and UFO researcher, it was about damn time he finally sat down to watch it. Join Ryan, Andrew, and Nick as they navigate their way through this cult-classic film where nothing is quite as it seems... and nobody and noTHING can be trusted as an alien threat invades not from above, but from within!
