Solarpunk Presents

This week on Solarpunk Presents Podcast, Ariel and Aleya talk to Emily (Em) Lessard, founder of The Plant Native. Em describes herself as a greeter, welcoming in and introducing gardeners and homeowners to the wonderful world of native plants and their benefits. The discussion covers pandemic pastimes, colonial naming practices, going back to school as an adult, planting for beauty AND for pollinators, a book coming out Spring 2027, and much more.Links:The Plant Native website: https://theplantnative.comSolarpunk Presents Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/solarpunkpresents

Louder! This update, we talk about a bunch of stuff including a song I made, steering into the skid of the worst stereotypes one might have about people with my neural makeup. Art. Love it. Search: "Voices" from Aleya Jobson on your fave streaming platform or support on Bandcamp or Fastfrwrd to plant a tree with the purchase! Woohoo! ART! Also mention gun violence in Jamaica, nightmares about library fees, trying to eat local, and water scarcity.Solarpunk Presents Patreon (for transcripts too): https://patreon.com/solarpunkpresentsWebsite: https://solarpunkpresents.comFastfrwrd: https://fastfrwrd.info

In this new series, Aleya shares a story of how machine intelligences could be and what could happen, how it could be used and the various ways to approach the topic. On this episode of Solarpunk Presents, Ariel reflects on the roots of solarpunk in the despair, rage, and grief that many of us feel when confronted with information about the climate crisis. Solarpunk is a reaction born out of these emotions, yet we don't often know how to talk about them - grief in particular.
