Movies with Mike and Anthony's Soda Pop Culture Club: Celebrating movies of the 80's, 90's and beyond
Do you love the movies of the 80s and 90s. Did late fees at the video store make you panic like you lost a book from the library? Then you are in the right place. Welcome to Mike and Anthony’s soda pop culture club. Me M
Fast Times At Ridgemont High
What kind of description is even needed for this? Seriously, it's Fast Times, man! If you aren't down with this, then go suck a carrot you Pat Benatar wannabe.
Every Which Way But Loose
Regardless of what you think, John Waters did not direct this movie, much to Anthony's surprise. And as crazy as this movie may be to watch, Every Which Way But Loose apparently struck a chord at the box office, because damn did it make some bank! Enjoy Mike and Anthony's chance to discuss in one episode: strange pet relationships, brawling for cash, shotgun toting grannies, biker gangs from another world, and Beverly D'Angelo slumming at a vegetable stand literally waiting for anyone to pick her up. Good times are to be had by all in this one.
Dry hump dancing and tank tops really do fix everything, don't they? Today Mike and Anthony talk about Dirty Dancing, which is what we know you've all been waiting for (according to Mike and every girl growing up back in the day). Enjoy this episode, because Anthony put the work in to make it through this for ya'll while pretending he had the time of his life.
Of all the action movies that Arnold has been in, this one holds a special place in Mike and Anthony's hearts. It taught them that one man can take down an army, Alyssa Milano cannot be trusted to make you lunch, and chain mail is possibly the worst form of fashion next to Yeezys. Time for Commando.
Like Father Like Son
Kirk Cameron wasn't just in Growing Pains. He's done several movies, including this one that was actually released in theaters. If you've seen any of his other films, there's no judgment here. Today Mike and Anthony discuss what could have been with Kirk Cameron's career as they remember the body swap comedy, Like Father, Like Son. If you squint your eyes, you can totally confuse Sean Astin and Dudley Moore for Eddie and Boner. bK9GiToSm00pwrrNSCYu
Men In Black 2
Second verse, same as the first. Mike and Anthony bring guest host Alyssa back for another round of MIB madness. This time, the stakes are higher, Tommy Lee Jones is going postal, and Lara Flynn Boyle has a bowel system that fascinates the Hell out of Anthony. Check out the gang's take on Men in Black 2.
Men In Black
It was simpler times for Will Smith back in the day when the whole world adored him and he ruled the box office. Ah well! Today Mike and Anthony are joined by Alyssa, a so-called MIB "expert." They later found this label to be a load of crap, but she does know some stuff about the movies. Just not expert level, at all. Check out Men in Black and see if you can erase it from your memory after listening.
