The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has concluded its probe into an incident involving an Ottawa Police Service officer and a collision on a bicycle path. The investigation found no grounds for criminal charges against the officer. The incident occurred when two e-motorcycles, riding erratically, collided with a cyclist, causing serious finger injuries. The officer was attempting to engage the riders when the collision happened. The SIU charged one rider with careless driving causing bodily harm and failure to stop, while the other was charged with careless driving and failure to stop.
