Let’s Just Try Something Different
Ep. 111
•
Sometimes you just need a change. That’s how we ended up broadcasting from Studio Two — the one with questionable chairs, peeling soundproofing, and a single decorative lamp no one ever turns on. Houston insists it’s for “fresh perspective,” but the rest of the crew isn’t convinced. Tension brews, microphones wobble, and Stitch’s allergies rage against the machine (and the room).
Somehow, we still find time to debate Bigfoot in a canoe, the sounds kids today will never hear, and whether Arizona is a real place or just a dry fever dream. It’s a new setting, same beautiful mess.

Adam Vinatieri's Guinness World Record Kick
16:51|Stitch is out today, so Houston flies solo and dives into the bomb threat hoax that shut down Monument Health this morning, tracing it back through a wild history of copycat callers and one guy who tried it with actual dynamite at a Lake Tahoe casino. He also celebrates Rapid City's own Adam Vinatieri setting a Guinness World Record with a field goal kicked eleven thousand feet up in the Swiss Alps, then throws out his most controversial take of the week: live music might be exhausting even when it is your favorite thing in the world, AC DC show in Winnipeg included.
Jeff From Texas
24:02|Houston is back from Canada and he brought stories for days. Stitch grills him on his sudden Tim Hortons obsession, a croissant breakfast sandwich apparently worth crossing a border for, and the wild tale of scoring two hundred and fifty dollar AC DC tickets in Winnipeg while a stranger swore he sounded like he was from Texas. The guys also map out where you absolutely do not want to be when the zombie apocalypse finally hits, and place their bets on this year's Fat Bear Week champion. Grab your donut and coffee, this one's a ride.
387. Watching It Burn
21:29||Ep. 387Houston and Stitch watch a car erupt into flames right outside the studio window, then get into whether a real sixteen hundred dollar pumpkin spice casket is worth the hype. A new ranking also drops on which states spend the most on OnlyFans, and the neighbors are shockingly thirsty.
386. Front Page Ego
21:59||Ep. 386Stitch stumbles onto a newspaper writeup about Houston that turns into a full roast session about ego and headlines. Then a candy corn perfume shows up in the studio and we spend way too long arguing about what "notes of spun sugar" are supposed to smell like. Plus, there's a mystery brewing ahead of the Creepy Crawl on October 30th that nobody, including the people running it, can explain.
385. Penguins Aren't Fish
24:08||Ep. 385We run the actual numbers on what it would cost to replace one of us with a robot, and the math is closer than anyone wants to admit. A Reddit thread has us testing each other on common knowledge like what a baby horse is called and whether penguins count as fish, with results nobody comes out of looking smart. NFL week one already has the studio arguing about injuries and hot takes before the season barely started.
384. More Than a Bass Player
25:07||Ep. 384Today's guest walks in as a bass player and leaves as certified local royalty, and we don't figure out why until the very end. Stitch spends a good chunk of the show trying to convince everyone alligators are basically swamp puppies right after a Florida gator story that says otherwise. And we run through the growing list of things that used to come free, phone chargers, concert fees, Disney fast passes, and why none of it adds up anymore.
383. Recording The Recorders
19:07||Ep. 383Houston's back behind the mic and he wastes no time picking a fight with Stitch over exactly how much backwash makes a shared water bottle unforgivable. Three hikers let an AI app plan their route up Mount Shasta and ended up spending a night on that mountain they never planned for. Plus, police departments across the country are raising concerns about a pair of smart glasses that could be recording them without their knowledge. Today's guest Zaccy Moon weighs in on all of it.
382. The Robot Vacuum Divorce
19:34||Ep. 382Grab your headphones because this one gets weird fast. The crew catches you up on a Taiwan husband who caught his wife cheating through their robot vacuum's camera, and the lawsuit drama that followed left everybody paying up, including a five month stint behind bars. Then the guys dig into "pheromone maxing," a new dating trend built around skipping the shower and the deodorant before a date, all in the name of natural pheromones. Add in a buffalo song stuck in everyone's head and a quarantined petting zoo full of rabid baby goats, and you've got yourself a full afternoon of chaos on The Kat.
381. Stitch Goes For Gold
19:00||Ep. 381Stitch spends the show chasing a Guinness World Record with nothing but a sticky note and a pen, trying to cram as many three and four letter words onto one line as humanly possible. We also dig into some National Radio Day stats, including an old survey that ranked radio personalities among the sexiest jobs around. And we get into which roads around Rapid City make it almost impossible to actually hit the speed limit.
