This week, we will go IN FOCUS where we cover more advanced wealth planning topics.

 

Today, we are joined by Timothy Noonan a Partner at the law firm Hodgson Russ based in Buffalo and New York City. Tim will be discussing “Hot Topics in NY Tax Audits and Enforcement.”

 

While lots of questions remain at the federal level about what will happen with tax enforcement, there is no question that the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance has not skipped a step. The state is as aggressive as ever, and is stepping-up enforcement in all areas, including personal taxes and residency, sales taxes, and corporate taxes. In this episode, Tim will review the latest hot topics in the New York tax area and give a quick overview of new tax legislation that will be enacted as part of the state’s 2025 budget.
