23: How to Become an AI entrepreneur? l JJ's journey from Google, to McKinsey, to AI Entrepreneurship
Hi everyone - in this episode, I'm SUPER excited to plunge into the (hot!) topic of AI Entrepreneurship with my guest JJ.
In my humble opinion, JJ's career path is MEGA exciting. JJ started his career at Google 🤩, went to McKinsey🧠 where he got exposure to digital transformation and deep learning projects. JJ then went deeper into AI space, joining an AI consultancy 🤖 where - at 25! - he was the head of the division in charge of AI strategy.
After that - in this "now or never" moment that I have heard from many entrepreneurs whom I have interviewed - JJ decided to become an entrepreneur and went to Entrepreneur First where he launched, at first, a company delivering real time biometric feedback for fitness applications and then - a company that JJ is running now - a copilot for private equity.
Listen to the interview for tonnes of AI and career insights:
- How JJ decided to leave a corporate path - and what he has learned about employability of ex-founders
- Whether one can build an AI business without technical background
- What lessons JJ has learned running an AI business
- And - of course - how AI can impact careers going forward
Tune in, enjoy, be shameless!
P.S. I have just launched a newsletter where I will be analysing each interview, distilling key career tips & learnings, and sharing my personal career experiences. If you love chatting about careers - subscribe - and don't hesitate to respond and share your thoughts, would love to hear them! https://shamelesscareers.beehiiv.com/

35. 35: The #1 Sign You’re in the Right Career: Loving Your Day-to-Day - Fernando’s Career Pivot from Strategy Consulting to Furniture Making
47:19||Season 1, Ep. 35What if the true measure of success isn’t your title or salary - but how you feel on an ordinary Tuesday? That’s the question at the heart of the new Shameless Careers episode. So often we chase future milestones - promotions, accolades, the next big thing - but it’s how we feel day to day that shapes our happiness much more than any title or status could (which, by the way, is an 'infinite ladder,' as we discuss in this episode). This is an episode I’ve been looking forward to for a long time: a raw and honest interview with Fernando Bignotto, who made a 180° career pivot from strategy consulting to fine furniture making. We talk about:What it’s like to realise your career isn’t playing to your strengthsWhat it feels like to truly love your work (spoiler: you miss it on holidays and feel sad when projects end)Why, for some people, corporate work can feel too abstract and not “real” - and what they crave instead is physical, tangible workThe tough financial trade-offs of leaving a high-paying job - and what the other side looks like I really loved our conversation with Fernando, and I hope you do too. And remember: the ultimate litmus test for career (and, I’d argue, a successful life) is simple - are you excited about your day ahead?=================================#careerchanger #midlifecareerchange #careercoaching #careertips #careersuccess #creativeentrepreneur #purposeatwork #lifeaftercorporate #redefinework #finewoodworking⚠️Disclaimer: I do not accept any liability for any loss or damage incurred from you acting or not acting as a result of listening to any of my publications. 44:10||Season 1, Ep. 30In this episode of Shameless Careers, Violetta returns one year after leaving her legal career to build a macramé fashion brand.
