Sermons from Philip Street Chapel Bristol

2nd June- Acts 18 v.1-17- Neil Todman

Season 2024, Ep. 21

In this sermon pastor Neil Todman addresses directly how we deal with discouragements, particularly in our efforts to make Jesus known. He looks at how Paul arrived in Corinth already feeling weak and fearful, and despite an incredible response to the gospel Paul felt even worse. Neil then looks at how the Lord used encouragements from His people, His promises and His providential care to enable Paul to carry on sharing the Good News. If this is a season of struggle, then this is one for you!

In a powerful sermon, Pete Foster- one of the elders at Philip Street Chapel- introduces us to John the Baptist and his role in heralding the arrival of God's long awaited King. Pete shows us some of the paradoxes around Jesus coming- he was expected, yet unexpected; he was all-powerful and sinless, yet identified with humanity in all our weaknesses and failings; he was the King of Kings, yet lived as one of us. Best of all Pete explains how through Jesus we can be beloved children of the living God and know that we have a Father in heaven who delights in us. Simply, this is too good to be missed.
