Following the devastation caused by Adam and Eve's rebellion against God, elder Alan Mann looks at how the ending of Genesis chapter 3 offers us hope. He shows how that hope comes from the promise God makes to save us; the provision God makes to cover our sin and shame; and the purpose God has always had through his Son to give us eternal life.

In this sermon as part of our Foundations series, Pastor Neil Todman explains from Genesis chapter 3 why life is hard in terms of giving birth to children and raising them; having loving marriages and even loving friendships; work; and finally death. He delves into why each of these important areas of life is part of God's punishment to Adam and Eve, before seeing how Christ experienced all the pains of this broken world before completing his work on the cross to restore us to God.(Neil references the interviews with Sheila last week and Martin this week so it might be worth listening to them first)

Martin visited us from another church in Bristol to share how he came to faith in Christ and how Christ helped him when his son was killed at 11 years old in a hit and run incident in the city in 2009. He speaks with clarity on the forgiveness and hope that we find in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

As we finish RBT in Kings, Pastor Neil Todman looks at how the books of 1 and 2 Kings reveal more of the roles of the prophets, priests and kings, but finish with us hungry for a prophet who can reveal more of God to us, a priest who can reconcile us to God; and a king who can rule over us forever.

In this sermon as part of our RBT month in 2 Kings, church member, Graham Thornton shows how the reign of King Josiah, which was wonderful in so many ways, was unable to change the hearts of the nation of Judah and why a greater King in needed. Graham shows us how revelation leads to repentance and reform, but still more is needed is there is going to be regeneration leading to true worship.

In this sermon as part of our Foundations series in Genesis, Sam Pibworth asks the question, "Whose side are you on?" He shows how siding with the Serpent leads to shame and blame, whereas living for the Serpent Crusher frees us from our sin and shame through his victorious death on the cross.
