Mar 19 2026: Seeds of Canucks optimism are planted; Golden goal debate rages

Ep. 1941

After a 3-2-1 record in 6 games, Matt and Blake chat about the appearance of a rarity in Canucks nation..... optimism. The guys get into a possible attitide shift for the team and fans over the final 15 games. They also look back on the Hughes trade through a new lense as Marco Rossi begins to pay big dividends offensively and as the furor over the USA's golden puck reaches a fevered pitch. TSN's Frank Corrado stops by to offer his take on the possibility of a new room and new culture taking shape already for the Canucks, plus, he looks at the play of Rossi and how he compares with Detroit's Marco Kasper, who was another possibility in the Hughes trade rumours. Then all 3 guys get into a spirited debate about the NHL's playoff format and whether Bettman is right to defend the current format to the ends of the earth. The Daily Hive's Rob Williams drops by to talk about fans going to Canucks games to have fun again rather than cheer on losses, and Rob has also concluded a deep investigation into the Canucks dressing room's new victory song, and you won't believe what it is. Matt and Blake finish up with a recap of the Whitecaps loss to the Sounders as their Concacaf Champions Cup aspirations are dashed for the year. They also review a big win for the Goldeneyes, Nathan Rourke wants to go to the Olympics, and the Blue Jays need more pitching!
