July 15, 2025: Are Demko-Lankinen the dynamic duo? The Canucks mulling more deals

Ep. 1493

The Silovs deal is done, and the Canucks crease is set with extensions for both goalies. So was it the right decision? Matt and Blake take a look at whether the approach is destined for success and whether the Canucks made the right moves in the short and long term. They also get into reports that the Canucks are still very much into making deals through August in order to clear cap space and still add another player. But who is available that merits that level of work?? John Shannon stops by for his weekly chat and gets into the merits of All Star skills competitions, the Canucks continuing to do business deep in the summer, the goalie setup in Vancouver, and where other business may come from this summer. John has his thoughts on the Penguins' liquidation of players too and whether Crosby would ever leave. The guys wrap up with an update on Pedro Vite's departure from the Whitecaps, the Lions earning honours after their latest win, and the MLB draft had a fair amount of Canadian content!

  • 1862. Feb 9, 2026: Canucks need mettle, Canada chases medals

    02:05:03||Ep. 1862
    Reunited and it feels so good! Matt is back from vacation, just in time to join Blake in pumping up the Olympic hockey tournament and recapping a Canucks fizzle before the break. The guys debate whether Elias Pettersson will find new life at the Olympics or whether he will ever find his prime form again. They also look at the lack of more Canucks trades just before the roster freeze, and what may come after. The guys sink their teeth into the second ever Super Bowl for the Seattle Seahawks in a dominating, albeit boring, edition of the big game vs New England. The guys look at its place in history, the chances of a defensive dynasty, and Sam Darnold answering all of his critics. John Shannon is back with the guys to talk about the quiet roster freeze deadline for the Canucks and what he expects to see happen when the NHL gets back to business. John gets into the future of Elias Pettersson, the culture in the Canucks room, and a deep dive into the Canucks chances of emulating the Canadiens' rebuild. Our Seahawks Insider Gregg Bell stops by to recap the Super Bowl victory for Seattle and to put the season into full context. Gregg compares this Seattle defence to some all time greats, talks about the importance of Emmanwori and Witherspoon, the possibility of Kenneth Walker's return, and whether the Seahawks can run this all back again next season! Matt and Blake wrap it up with an Olympics update for Canada, the Whitecaps are headed home from Spain with their new BC Place lease, and the Vancouver Warriors are red hot in temper and in the standings!Thank you to our great sponsors:@bet365: It's never ordinary! 01:50:18||Ep. 1859
    After another tough night on the ice, Blake and Jeff review the Canucks' latest effort and the critical comments of Teddy Blueger as he gets set to head to the Olympics. The guys look at the recent run from Kevin Lankinen and get an update on Chytil's health. The boys also look at the latest from on the Whitecaps status with BC Place and hear from CEO Axel Schuster as the team appears saved... for now, but plenty of concerns remain. The guys are joined live by Seahawks Insider Gregg Bell as he gets set to cover the Super Bowl in Santa Clara. Gregg gives us the latest injury report on a few key Seahawk players, and talks about how they're dealing with being the favourites. Then it's Postmedia's Patrick Johnston from the Olympic Games in Italy. PJ does talk some Canucks, offering his take on the future of Blueger and the rest of the veterans that could be traded, but he also gets into the Canucks' entire list of Olympians and who could be the biggest contributor. PJ has a full review of the ice hockey arena in Milan and his take on the first game of the women's tournament that went off without a hitch. The Sheet's Jeff Marek stops by as well and gets into the dreadful play of the Canucks and the few trades before the break. He talks about the Team Canada roster and his confidence in a gold medal. Plus, the Gavin Mckenna story, and the impact that will have on the draft in June.
