Jan 5, 2026: Stenberg or McKenna for Canucks? Sherwood's future uncertain

Ep. 1795

The Canucks have a mediocre weekend while Team Canada's is worse, and Matt and Blake have it all covered to begin the 2026 S & P season! The guys are back together and get into all the news from the ice, and how the two are related. They debate the right draft pick for the Canucks, if they maintain this pace, and how each player might benefit the team going forward. The guys look at the rumours around future Canucks trades, and whether Kiefer Sherwood should ever get extended in Vancouver. RinkWide's Jeff Paterson stops by to discuss the myriad of Canucks decisions, including the roles of the young players in Adam Foote's lineup and the latest string of healthy scratches. JPat also comments on the ongoing appearances of Fiip Chytil at practices, and Teddy Blueger on the road trip, and talks about the possibility of the Canucks getting their true top 4 centres all back in the lineup and how that would impact the standings. TSN's Frank Corrado stops by to recap the Canadian World Junior campaign and what went wrong for Canada. Frank weighs in on the poll question and which potential Canucks draft pick would be the smart one based on what he's seen at the tournament. Frankie also gives his assesment of the Canadian Olympic roster and if there's any glaring snubs that will haunt them. The boys wrap up with a look at the Seahawks' incredible regular season finale and all the NFL fallout after week 18, plus the Whitecaps losing another key player on transfer, the BC Lions make a handful of signings and the Blue Jays make a splash as well!
