When Life Gets Full: Navigating Loss & Holding Onto Hope (Pt.2)
In Part One, Ayasha was waiting to learn whether she'd get the job she'd been interviewing for. Damon was preparing for the loss of his grandmother, who was in hospice.
In Part Two, Ayasha got the job, and Damon's grandmother has peacefully transitioned into glory. Their conversation continues with a question that becomes even more important as life changes: How do we stay connected to what really matters?
Ayasha reflects on gratitude, stability, and the challenge of building a life where earning a living doesn't mean abandoning the dreams of her heart. She also shares why the version of the artist life she might have chosen in her twenties—including seriously considering moving to London—looks different at 42, when healing, stability, relationships, and creativity all matter.
Damon reflects on legacy and purpose, his grandmother's passing, and the realization that we can't predict what life will bring—or even how we'll respond when it
arrives. He also gives himself grace around IO, acknowledging that there is a new format and approach he wants to bring to the project and reflecting on how these recent life changes are shaping the way he'll tell his story going forward.
This is the second half of a conversation about making room for creativity without pretending that the rest of life isn't happening. Damon and Ayasha remain committed not only to completing their projects, but to learning from and reflecting on what the journey itself is teaching them.

3. When Life Gets Full: Navigating Loss and Holding Onto Hope (Pt.1)
01:03:43||Season 1, Ep. 3What happens when life's different containers start filling up all at once?In Part One of this two-part conversation, Ayasha and Damon get transparent about navigating hope, loss, legacy, and the complex life responsibilities happening outside of their creative projects.Ayasha shares what it's been like continuing through her job search journey while trying to remain hopeful, even after disappointment. As she waits to hear if she'll be offered a new position, she reflects on the power of honoring her emotions, taking life one day at a time, and learning that hope sometimes requires courage.Damon shares his personal reflections on witnessing his grandmother enter into hospice. Reflecting on her life has him thinking more deeply about his own, what really matters, and how those questions are beginning to influence the way he approaches IO, his memoir project. They also check in on their creative goals: Ayasha has released the 4×4 Project trailer and recorded her first episode for the YouTube channel, while Damon gives himself permission to reflect on how he wants to release IO. The projects are moving, but more importantly, they're both growing and reflecting as life unfolds around them.
2. Doing It Anyway: Doubt, Decision, & Showing Up.
01:05:17||Season 1, Ep. 2What do you do when doubt, indecision, or just life gets in the way of what you said you were going to do?In this episode of the See Thru Podcast, Damon and Ayasha reflect on a week that didn't necessarily go according to plan. Ayasha found herself wrestling with doubt, while Damon worked through indecision. Their circumstances looked different, but the challenge was surprisingly similar: how do you keep showing up when moving forward feels uncomfortable? They talk about adjusting when your carefully planned schedule falls apart, learning new things, rebuilding focus, and finding the balance between giving yourself grace and still holding yourself accountable. And despite the doubt, indecision, and unexpected challenges, they both did the thing! Damon completed the introduction for his I/O project, and Ayasha finished the rough cut of her 4×4 Project trailer. The takeaway isn't that they have all the answers — because that's not what See Thru is about. Instead, Damon and Ayasha are asking the questions, processing them in real time, and discovering that sometimes progress simply starts with showing up and doing it anyway.
