Team Powers Activate
Season 1, Ep. 90

What happens when tech giants team up? Surprisingly, not much. How about when a law is made that has nothing to do with something you use every day? Oh, that could land you with a felony!
- In California, an app's terms of service are apparently important
- Patent all the things!
- Who will win the race for Kodak's patents?
- FCC to FAA; Let My Devices Go
- Chrome had some problems
- Microsoft Surface getting expanded retail presence
- Xbox TV?
- Social media major? Is that a fake major like liberal arts?
- porn porn porn porn porn porn porn
- Google Maps makes its triumphant return to iOS. More
- No treaty for you!
- Australian police have warned the public not to use Apple Maps. Like, ever. It turns out that the iPhone app can’t distinguish between the city of Mildura and a national park with no water, fuel, and filled with dangerous animals. The police have had to rescue multiple people after the motorists hiked back to cell range to phone for help.
- Santa has switched allegiances this year, as NORAD has changed their tracking system to use Bing Maps instead. At least he won’t get lost in an Australian national park . . .
- How tall can you make a tower of legos before it destroys the bottom lego? 2.5 miles high that’s how tall.
- John McAfee has been extradited to the United States following his run from Belize where he faces murder charges. Too bad for him, since the reason he went to Belize in the first place is that he faces charges of negligent death and tax evasion here.
- North Korea has finally gotten one of their rockets off the ground and into space. Unfortunately, the satellite it put into orbit is tumbling out of control and may possibly mess things up for other equipment currently up there. Way to go North Korea, screwing things up for everyone again.
- No space shuttle? No problem for the US Military. They are still launching their secret space plane on a secret space mission . . . suspiciously soon after seeing the North Koreans launch their trash into space.
- Star Trek has been stolen. No not the TV series. A fishing boat named Star Trek was stolen in New Zealand. Authorities have yet to confirm, but my money is on the Klingons as the culprits.
- What is it with companies firing people by email? DC Comics suddenly fired Batgirl writer Gail Simone by email. Way to stay classy DC Comics.
An obsolete law could land you in jail

On A Break
02:09Do you know how sometimes life gives you lemons? They say to take those lemons and make lemonade with them, but have you ever made lemonade? Squeezing those lemons takes time! Plus, you have to add so much sugar that stirring it until it dissolves takes forever! My point is that making lemonade takes a lot of time and effort. (I am also now craving a glass of lemonade. What have I done?) Anyway, life has gotten a bit too real for us here at Stolendroids Podcast, so we need to take a minute to catch our breath. But don't worry because we're not going anywhere! We're currently preparing for Salt Lake FanX on September 16th through the 18th at the Salt Palace Convention Center. We will be back in October doing what we love to do. In the meantime, if you have suggestions for topics we should discuss upon our triumphant return, hit us up on Twitter or Facebook and let us know.439. The Episode with a List
59:41Conventions appear to be happening again, which means people will be spending lots of money. And if you have ever been to a fan convention, you know that a good portion of that money will be spent by those who want to meet their favorite celebrities. But if you have ever paid for a photo op or an autograph, you know that the time you get to spend with the person you're paying to meet is fleeting. Sometimes, you may only get a few seconds with them! But what if you had more time? What if you could talk with them about anything that you wanted? If given the opportunity, what celebrities would you choose to hang out with for a few hours? What would you do with them? What questions would you ask? Listen as our panelists discuss these very questions as they run through a list of celebrities with whom they would like to spend time. How many hobbits and dwarves are on their lists? And what about Norse gods? Check out the latest episode of Stolendroids Podcast, and then let us know who makes your list!438. The Loki and Sylvie (Not Mobius) Show
01:05:09Another Marvel television show has come and gone, but this time things are different. Unlike WandaVision or The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki feels like an extremely important part of the MCU as we enter a new phase of storytelling. Why would we say that? Listen to week's episode of Stolendroids Podcast to find out. But Loki isn't the only thing going on in the Stolendroids Universe. Black Widow is suing the Mouse, Kevin Smith's Masters of the Universe: Revelation is predictably angering fanboys everywhere, and LeBron James continues to show why he will never be better than Michael Jordan. And not just on the basketball court either. Yep! We're talking Space Jam!437. Black Widow's Box Office Bull's-Eye
51:05After numerous delays, Marvel's Black Widow finally arrived in theaters. And Disney+. Yep. In addition to a theatrical release where the latest chapter in the MCU scored $158 million in its first three days at the global box office, Disney also released the anticipated film through Disney+ Premier Access. But the move appears to have been a wise one since it earned more than $60 million through the popular streaming service during its opening weekend.Based on its earnings, it looks like Black Widow is a hit, but is it any good? We break it down on this week's episode of Stolendroids Podcast. Listen as we discuss what we like (and what we don't) about the movie, then let us know your thoughts. And do you think that this is a movie best watched in a theater, or is it okay to watch at home? Let us know! Send us a message on any of our social media accounts, or leave your thoughts in the comments below!436. Don't Be a Spoiler
36:52It's Wednesday morning. You're at work sitting in another unnecessary Zoom meeting that really should have been an email. Hoping to make the next hour of your life more tolerable, you visit your favorite social media sites and begin scrolling. Within seconds you are bombarded with spoilers from the newest episode of Loki. Seriously? It has only been out for like six hours! How is the Internet already full of spoilers?Does this sound familiar? Maybe it wasn't Loki that was spoiled. Perhaps it was a different movie or TV show. But you know the feeling. That feeling of anger and rage and disappointment in your fellow man. How could they do this to you? Shouldn't there be some sort of etiquette when it comes to this sort of thing? We're right there with you, which is why that's the topic of conversation on this week's Stolendroids Podcast. What bothers you most about when people share spoilers? What rules do you think there should be about sharing spoilers? Hit us up on social media and let us know.435. Who Herds the Herder?
01:00:03Who watches the watchmen? This is a popular translation of "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?" from the writings of Juvenal and can be literally translated as "Who will guard the guards themselves?" It's a theme that has become a popular trope throughout pop culture, including movies, television, and comic books. It also happens to permeate our review of Pixar's Luca. While we do manage to talk about Luca, there is just so much more to talk about than just one movie. Seriously, we had the new trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings drop right before we recorded, so you know we had to discuss that. We also had follow-up news from a previous episode that we felt should be talked about. Throw in some Disney+ and Netflix chatter, and where to get a cold drink on a hot day, and you've got this week's episode of Stolendroids Podcast.434. Mr. Game and Watch Exhales E3
57:18Utah Remote-Con 2 has come and gone meaning it's time to get back to our somewhat regular schedule. And what better time to get back into the swing of things than right after E3 2021? With the video game industry's biggest event of the year firmly in the rearview mirror, the Stolendroids panelists recap some of this year's highlights as only they can. With some entertaining discussion surrounding E3, video game updates (inspired by Nintendo's lack of Animal Crossing news), and video games in general, you really don't want to miss this episode. And do you remember Gambit from Nintendo's Game & Watch and Super Smash Bros.? Neither does anyone else. Well, maybe one person does. Seriously. This is a fun episode. Give it a listen then and let us know what you think.433. Raya and the Last Dragon
50:58Disney has been making classic animated films for decades. You could even say that it's what they're known for. I mean, they did make Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the first full-length animated feature film, way back in 1937, and they've been cranking out the classics ever since. Sure, they've stumbled along the way, but they always seem to recover. With that in mind, why would you think that a global pandemic would prevent Disney from releasing another animated classic? No, it's not a classic yet, but Raya and the Last Dragon is good enough to be one. From the story to the animation, it is a classic in the making. Unfortunately, it may be one that many people sleep on. DON'T SLEEP ON IT!On this week's episode of Stolendroids Podcast, we share our thoughts on what could be one of Disney's best films in years. Have you seen Raya and the Last Dragon? What are your thoughts? Send us a message through social media!432. Saturday Morning Cartoons
58:00Remember the days when you would wake up at 6:00 on a Saturday morning, grab a giant bowl of cereal, and plop onto the couch where you would watch cartoons for the next four hours? As a kid, those were the best days. Saturday mornings were yours, and nobody was going to take them away from you. Until they did…On this week's episode of Stolendroids Podcast, we reminisce about the days when it was okay for a kid to watch hours and hours of television. We remember the memory and mourn the loss of the Saturday morning cartoon and all that went with it. The sugar cereal. The amazing commercials. The freedom from having to worry about doing your chores for just a few hours. Saturday mornings were the best! What were some of your favorite Saturday morning cartoons? Did you have any that you just had to watch? And did you have any Saturday morning cartoon rituals? Let us know in the comments or through social media!
