Elie put her skills and eye for detail as a former art director in advertising towards making this everyday armor. After launching a Kickstarter campaign that was even more successful than she had hoped, Lorica Clothing was born.
Lorica’s designs are based on real examples of armor from all over the world. In this episode, Elie tells us all about her travels, museum visits, and research to ensure the original work is presented as accurately as possible. She also gives us some insight on what it’s like to be a one-woman team and her favorite parts of the job.
The final result of all Elie’s hard work? Gorgeous, unique clothing that you can tell was made with love and care every step of the way. Plus, it’s ethically produced in the USA with fabrics derived from recycled plastic water bottles!
