We do that rarest of things on the Rigore podcast this week, and give Como a little bit of (grudging) praise. Plus, we wonder if Toro are relegation-bound, and of course go over why Fiorentina slipped up once again. Meanwhile in Serie B, Venezia can't stop scoring - can it last??

We open with the sad death of Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso, but Fiorentina paid tribute in the best possible way by beating Bologna and lifting themselves out of the relegation zone for about the first time this season. Elsewhere, it was narrow wins and losses all round in Serie A, but in Serie B, not even VAR could stop Venezia completing a fine comeback against Catanzaro to move within one point of first place.

An exciting weekend that saw a draw in the big clash between Inter and Napoli that had goals, red cards and controversial penalties. Fiorentina meanwhile almost beat Milan but another last minute goal held them back, while Juve are starting to do that ominious Juve thing of winning games quietly and becoming real title contenders. Meanwhile in Serie B, Venezia put in a great performance to move clear into second place.

An early Christmas present for one half of the pod as Fiorentina grab their first win of the season with a thumping win over Udinese (aided by a red card). Plus, Juve beat Roma, we discuss whether anyone cares about the Super Cup, and Venezia win another top of the table clash in Serie B. Buon Natale everyone!

Uh oh... Just as we said last week things could only get better for Fiorentina, in true Rigore fashion, we proved to be wrong again. A damaging defeat against Verona has left Ginkers a broken man - very much in contrast to Marco, who watched Venezia dominate Serie B league leaders Monza.
