01:48:35|If you came to class on Saturday and were party to the discussions, you'll know we talked a bit about autism/Asperger's, sensory processing disorder (SPD), ADD/ADHD, anxiety etc during class. Since Ashley is experienced in this area she agreed to host a chat. All of those who took part either have first-hand experience of dealing with these disorders, or similar, or have children who have them. Everyone who took part has agreed for the audio to be allowed to go out to Patreon subscribers and class members. The audio has not been edited so please bear in mind it is from a live video class, so at times there might be lag where two people speak at once. Please respect the confidentiality of individuals. I hope you find some of this useful or at least interesting, particularly if you plan to do Shadow Work with us next year and have experience of mental health issues yourself.DISCLAIMER: Neither Ashley nor myself are a licensed Psychologist or Psychiatrist. However, we have both studied Psychology. Ashley also has extensive practical experience and is currently studying a full degree in it with a view to gaining qualifications. She only wished to try to help by making people aware of the terms used and current solutions available to the best of her knowledge. If you or someone you know experiences anything like the issues discussed or requires more information about potential diagnosis or solutions, please seek professional guidance.WFSIntro 3 - WTF Do You Put In a Pagan Planner?
10:09|Class doesn't officially start until next week (Tuesday 8th the first Study Guide will go up) but I'm putting up a couple of 'soundbite' style clips for you to listen to while you get set up for the New Year (or month, depending on how you're working).Download the MP3Download the Moon Stickers PrintableDownload the Planning Ideas PDFSee Pagan Planning Links Ning page for more planning info than you will ever know what to do with!Planning Ideas - Plain Text VersionThe trick to pagan planning is there is no trick. Quite simply, you look at the various sites that are available and see what you think will be relevant to you.I suggest you start small with the following:Moons Esbats or Full moons (and their relevant names/energies/astro sign - see sticker printable) Dark moons (and their relevant names/energies/astro sign)Sabbats Check your Wheel of the Year for the 8 key points of the year. They are mostly on the same dates every year, so fairly easy to add NOTE: Equinox times and dates are astrologically based so they vary from year to year. Also if you are SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE, remember your calendar is alternate. While the next date on the Northern calendar is Feb 1/2 Imbolc, in the Southern hemisphere you ’ll be celebrating Lammas. Key astrological events and Transits Even if you’re not ‘into’ astrology there are some things that will be relevant, just like the moon phase. The changing of the sun sign, retrograde personal planets and ‘big’ events for planets you are closely associated with. ‘Big Aspects’ For example, if you have Mercury in a key place on your chart, the Retrogrades will be important. If you have a strong Aries/Mars and Sagittarius/Capricorn connection, then the square on the 21st will be important because it is a tense relationship and both planets are exalted. Don’t worry if you’re new to this and don’t understand it. We’re going to look at some of this next week. If you did last year’s class though, you should be able to start pulling out key events in the astrological year. Eclipses Lunar and Solar eclipses happen a lot but if you have one in your sign, conjunct a key point in your chart or a solar eclipse where you live, then you will want to know when that is happening. Remember, just because you’re not ‘into’ astrology, doesn’t mean these aren’t important for other work like shadow work (dark moon), internal reflection (Mercury retrograde) and spell work (there’s a Mars/Aries trine Jupiter/Sagittarius in late January that will be great for kickstarting your Spring cleaning! Personal Times There are certain times in the year you will automatically put in your calendar especially if you ‘celebrate’ them. Birthdays, Anniversaries and so on. Don’t overlook other times of importance such as the anniversary of a loved one’s passing, the time before you start a new job or the weeks before a house move and so on. You can even note things like suggested goal completion dates where you might want to do a tarot reading or spell work. As you grow in your craft you’ll think of new things to add to your calendar. Planning and harvest times for herbs, the best times to work with chakras and spirit guides and so on. Don’t rush it. Stick to ‘what you need’ rather than ‘everything that’s available’.If you don’t know how to use it, you don’t need all of it!
