The creative life of artist and twin mum Bella McGoldrick
When I was a young uni student trying to create a folio of writing work, I had a little blog where I interviewed creatives. One of the first people I had on my list to interview was Bella McGoldrick. The piece was titled 'There's Something about Bella' and more than 10 years, some career plot twists, countless cities, and a set of twins later, I can confirm that there's still something about Bella McGoldrick.
This is such a fun conversation. You'll hear about the time she was deported from her husband's home country and told she was never allowed back, how she felt when she found out she was having twins and just a hint, her reaction was the opposite to her mum and her sisters, what it's like to run her business with her husband, the identity shifts she's faced as a mum in the world of art, and how she's built such a successful business as an artist.
