Season 2, Episode 1 - DUUUUUUUUH DUN, DUUUUUUUUH DUN! That can only mean one thing! For January's episode we’re taking a ‘deep dive’ into Jaws…Jaws 2 that is. In 1975 the cinematic landscape was forever changed by the release of Jaws. It was a ground breaking movie, based on the popular novel by Peter Benchley and it was also heavily tied into the cultural landscape. Made by a wee up and comer named Steven Spielberg the movie took the world by storm. It was then followed up by an inevitable sequel in 1978 which we discuss here at length. But…was Jaws 2 equally as impressive and iconic as the first? Was it ‘sum-fin’ special or did it ‘flounder’?
Synopsis: 4 years after the shark attacks that left Amity Island reeling, Sheriff Martin Brody finds new trouble lurking in the waters. However, Mayor Vaughn is hesitant to take action as he wants to rid the area of its grisly reputation. But the disappearance of a pair of divers suggests that all is not going ‘swimmingly’ in the waters surrounding Amity Island.

We start with a wee chat about Hogmanay and our traditions and about the invasion of AI slop on social media before getting down to business and running through all 19, taking a little bit more time to discuss the top 10. Following that we have some fun segments as we discuss some of our favourite things from the season. Join us as we talk about the time Arnold Schwarzenegger spent his Christmas Eve trying to get the hottest toy in town Jingle All the Way.Synopsis: Workaholic Howard Langston wants to make things up to his wife and son, promising to get the hottest toy of the season, Turbo-Man for his son’s Christmas - As Langston hunts down the elusive gift on Christmas Eve, he competes with a mail man father on the same quest. This time on Rank Rotten our Halloween Spooktacular concludes with 1995’s Casper; a cosy, fun, friendly ghost feature which for all its flaws has a lot of heart. Casper is a character who is synonymous with Halloween, so much so his live action feature length debut is based during the season. It’s also the movie's 30th Anniversary this year and so it felt right to celebrate it…feel old yet?Synopsis: Casper is a kind young ghost who peacefully haunts a mansion in Maine. When Dr James Harvey arrives to communicate with Casper and his fellow spirits, he brings along his teenage daughter, Kat.
