Make your show notes useful - write as much as you can (This bit you're reading now is your show notes, btw.). Preferably about 300 words per episode, which seems like quite a lot, but you can always have a good chunk of that be your boilerplate, that is to say, the same on every episode, just copy & pasted form a word doc. A pet peeve mostly, this one, but there's a learning behind it: Edit your audio properly, out of respect for your audience and their time. Using any amount of commercial music isn't worth the risk to your podcast as a whole. Not even a little tiny snippet. Instead, use PodSafe music (music that's Safe for Podcasts). Or pay a musician to create something bespoke.
