This week we break down Sony’s latest State of Play, including Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Until Dawn 2, Ghost of Yotei, Marvel’s Wolverine, Metro 2039, Maneater 2, and more. We’ll debate whether Sony actually delivered a great showcase, especially with the chat spending half the show complaining about the no-disc situation. We’ve also got some good news on Onimusha and Blood of the Dawnwalker, the new GTA 6 limited-edition DualSense controllers, and a look at all the games hitting PS5 next week — including Mewgenics, Valheim, Hot Wheels Infinite Rush, and NHL 27.Visit www.patreon.com/psthisisawesome to support the show and help us continue producing the content you love! Please, if you enjoyed the content — or even if you didn’t quite enjoy this one — come back. GTA VI is everywhere right now. The latest reveal happened on Netflix, and at this point it feels like the floodgates are completely open. New details and information seem to be coming out every single day, giving us even more to speculate about and talk about as we get closer to the game.Sony has also announced a double State of Play for September 3. The first presentation will cover a broad range of PS5 games before immediately rolling into a second presentation focused specifically on games from Japan and Asia. We already know we’re getting an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but there are plenty of rumors surrounding what else could show up. Could we finally see more of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet? Could Marvel’s Wolverine make an appearance? We’ll have to wait and see.And then there’s the $900 PS5 Pro — which is now sold out across the United States. PlayStation Direct reportedly ran out after other major retailers had already sold through their stock. The timing is pretty interesting considering the GTA VI hype is reaching another level. So the question is: are people actually suddenly buying PS5 Pros because they want the best possible GTA VI experience, or is this simply GTA VI causing another massive hardware buying frenzy? Either way, it’s a pretty interesting development for a console that has had a somewhat complicated reception.Visit www.patreon.com/psthisisawesome to support the show and help us continue producing the content you love! Please, if you enjoyed the content — or even if you didn’t quite enjoy this one — come back.
