Cybertruck, Mustang Mach-E, and we talk to Dyson Award winner Lucy Hughes - Pocket-lint podcast ep.30

Season 1, Ep. 30

There's a new Tesla in town: the Cybertruck. Announced at SpaceX's headquarters in LA, it is an electric pickup, but looks nothing like one. Instead, it resembles something out of a sci-fi movie - more suited to be on Mars than driving around on Earth. Pocket-lint editor Chris Hall followed its launch and joins us to tell us more.

Meanwhile, following on from Stuart's stint as a judge for the James Dyson Awards earlier in the year, he caught up with the the student that not only won the UK leg, but also the overall global prize of £30,000. Lucy Hughes talks about her winning invention - a new bioplastic made of organic fish waste - and what winning the overall honour means for her.

Finally, in-keeping with the eco-friendly and car theme this week, Pocket-lint's reviews editor Mike Lowe walks us through the new all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E, which he checked out in Oslo at the European launch. Does it have what it takes to be a Mustang?

Running order:

01:05 - Chris talks Tesla Cybertruck

08:17 - Stuart talks to Lucy Hughes

19:05 - Mike discusses the new Ford Mustang Mach-E

2020 predictions: We look at what the year has in store for Apple, Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Facebook - Pocket-lint podcast ep. 34

Season 2, Ep. 34
It's the start of a new year and a new decade, no less. In the 2010s, we saw the launch of great, innovative products and tech, like the Apple iPad, Amazon Alexa, Chromebooks, Xbox One and PS4, plus plenty of other things we now take for granted. So what do the 20s have in store? The next ten years promise to deliver further innovations in 5G, AI, autonomous cars and even, yes, a revival for augmented reality glasses, as the way we use tech constantly pushes us to adapt and change the way we live. But, rather than speculate about what we will be doing in 2030, we're decided to focus on the next 12 months for the time being, as we try to predict what the likes of Apple, Google, Amazon and Microsoft will be revealing. To do that Stuart is joined by Pocket-lint team members Dan Grabham and Chris HallRunning order:01:20 - What are the big predicted product launches12:40 - What are the big challenges ahead18:13 - What about new opportunities in 2020Visit us atpocket-lint.com, check out our latest videos atyoutube.com/pocketlintcomand sign up to our daily newsletter atpocket-lint.com/info/newsletter.*** Please also take the time to rate and review us onApple Podcastsor wherever you get your pods.
