In this Play2Pod Meet the Experts Special we have the abslute honour of talking to a long time friend and hero of ours, Professor Sally Rogers. With over 40 years of experience in autism research, early identification and intervention, Professor Rogers is an esteemed expert in the field.

We talk about the development of the Early Start Denver Model and the impact this approach has had on developing effective support for very young children. We also discuss the importance of early support for young children with ASD and the power of parent led intervention, even in places like the UK where there are very few options for effective, evidence based therapy services.

We talk about the 7 sensory systems and the ways in which some children may have difficulty processing certain input, but be super motivated by others.     In this episode we talk to Dr Karen Levine, author of the Replays approach and specialist in treating anxiety in children with developmental challenges. Originally based in Boston, and now Maine, Karen has been an adviser to the Blue Sky Autism Project since meeting Dr Ruth at their ESDM training at the MIND Institute in 2010. We have been lucky enough to be trained in Replays by Karen and have used it successfully with many, many children over the years.It is a real privilege to have Karen join us on our podcast and we hope that parents will find her advice and expertise on anxiety as insightful and helpful as we do!
