She saw gang life as a way out, but the consequences were devastating, leaving her feeling trapped and broken. In desperation, Mary prayed for God to heal her and guide her path. In Part 1 of this episode, Annie sits down with a courageous survivor of trafficking, and a graduate of Destiny House and Dream House. Her journey reveals how trafficking can happen to anyone, starting with a desperate need for love. Born from rape and raised in an abusive home, she turned to gangs for a sense of belonging but was traded to a trafficker for drugs. Her story sheds light on the cycle of abuse — gifts, violence and manipulation masked as love — and her eventual descent into addiction. Now, 3 ½ years clean, she shares how finding Christ’s unconditional love helped her confront her trauma, transform her anger and experience full redemption.
