EP.2 - RIP Artie Fluffkin (with Charlie Jones-West // SickOnes Part 1)

Ep. 2

Luke has written a song about his dead hamster and makes Sean sit through it all. Sean brings in a message from Ringo the Wonderdog and the boys discuss Martin Fowler-based writing challenges.

Our guest today is Charlie-Jones West, the guitarist and co-writer with Southwest hardcore punk band SickOnes. Sean used to run a bar with Charlie, who at the time was also working on his own skate brand, DKW. Whilst Luke knows him from the four times SickOnes recorded in the studio he used to own. There's much talk of Fugazi, Skittles, Dave Grohl and polite-but-firm Cease and Desist letters from established condiment owners. Enjoy.

  • 3. EP.3 - For the love of Christ, don't call him Martin

    37:50
Luke has turned up to the podcast recording drunk and eating a bag of chips but the two decide to persevere regardless. Sean delivers his sensational entry to the latest round of 'Exercises in Writing' - a short story about Martin Fowler from Eastenders. There's also talk on the demise of Take Me Out, The Fall song titles, Channel Islands tax dodging, the best songs from The Simpsons and we receive a visit from legendary romantic novelist Jilly Cooper.
  • 1. EP.1 - Jimmy Page's pastry face

    01:12:03
It's the first episode and Sean and Luke decide to gear themselves up by interviewing each other. Maybe if they can get that right then there's a chance they won't make a fool of themselves in front of forthcoming guests. Luke's just been through a break up - so naturally there's talk of Tinder, alcohol, weed, boxing, cryogenics, Ravi Shankar's infidelity and Sean makes a heartfelt plea to Lindsey Lohan...but will she answer his call?
