Perverted by Language

Hosted by Sean Powell and Luke Stidson.

A tall, first-time novelist meets his short, songwriter ex-flatmate, where they talk to celebrity guests and discuss all the reasons why they probably aren't writing at the moment.

Sean Powell

Sean's been writing since he was a child. It's just nobody seems to have noticed. Which isn't surprising considering most of the time he doesn't write and has never been published. Hopefully that'll change soon. He's working on a novel, probably his dozenth, about someone going up a river to find themselves. When he isn't not writing he's also meant to be a Labour Party activist and finding new places to stash his book collection. He knows nothing about musicians though seems to know a lot of them, so is hoping Luke will educate him somewhat.

Luke Stidson

Luke has been a, not entirely unsuccessful, songwriter for most of his life. His best known work was as frontman for indie folk synth band 'Twin Falls' - who managed to get two Radio1 playlists, a Maida Vale session and a slot on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury 2013 under their belt, before calling it a day in 2017. Since then he's divided his time between producing records for other people, churning out a solo album and working as an Art Director for a design agency. Luke's hoping to find out from Sean how anyone goes about writing something intended to be more than 4 minutes long.
