Known for his novel "Moonshine Over Georgia: A Novel Based On Actual Events," Skates has also made his mark as a speechwriter and policy advisor for two administrations. After dedicating 30 years to the field of chemistry, he made a significant career shift to become a speechwriter and advisor for Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin, later transitioning to a Senior Adviser role in the Trump Administration. Skates is also the author of four novels and has written over 300 articles and short stories, showcasing his wide-ranging talents and expertise.

In this episode, we are joined by Patti's Founder, Mr. Chip Tullar, who takes us on a methodical journey through his vision of what Patti's represents for its guests.

On this episode of Peddling Pork, Patti’s/T Lawson’s Chef Kevin Ragan, shares his background in the Culinary world and what brought him to the Settlement. His principles revolve around the importance of using fresh, high-quality ingredients, practicing proper cooking techniques, and maintaining high standards of professionalism and creativity in the kitchen. Chef Kevin’s passion, dedication and attention to detail allowed him to excel in the culinary field. Finding his home at the Settlement, he focuses on ways to be creative with the different type atmospheres of the two restaurants, Patti’s 1880’s Settlement and T Lawson’s Grill in both food, events and marketing.
