MEET THE MOST HAUNTED TEAM PART 2: Are Ghosts as Solid as You and Me?

Season 1, Ep. 271
•

An ordinary semi-detached house in Pontefract. No castle, no prison, just a family home. The team has only just walked through the front door when it starts. A crucifix is pushed off a windowsill in a room with only one man inside. Then, in a bedroom they’ve just left, they find the drawer pulled open and a child’s bouncy ball balanced perfectly on its half-inch edge, as if something is holding it there.

The Most Haunted team are back around the table, and this week Stuart, Glen and Karl finally reveal their favourite investigations of all time.

  • Stuart takes us back to 30 East Drive, the house that left every one of them with scars.
  • Glen remembers Croxteth Hall, where wine bottles launch themselves off cellar shelves, a bed moves a foot with five people sitting on it, and old pennies drop out of thin air.
  • Karl returns to Michelham Priory, where it all began. There, a lighting rig crossed a room in total silence, and a visitor complained that a member of the team had ignored her at the bottom of the stairs, when that team member was somewhere else entirely.

Yvette relives the night she ran screaming from the most haunted room at the Stanley Hotel in Colorado, the hotel that inspired The Shining.

Stuart and Karl tell the story of the white figure they chased down a corridor, which vanished at a locked door.

Glen explains why Greg’s apparition, caught walking through a grid of laser dots, may be the most remarkable footage Most Haunted has ever captured.

Then come your questions, from the night everyone got strangled at Pendle Hill to the pitch-black cellars beneath Denbigh asylum.

  • When objects move, are they being carried, or dematerialised and rebuilt somewhere else?
  • Why are some apparitions partly solid and partly not?
  • Is the stranger you pass on a dark road always who you think they are?
  • And how many ghosts have we already walked past without ever knowing?

Listen, and decide for yourself.

  • MONDAY MAILTIME: The Meal Left For The Drowned & The Light That Hunted Me

    21:41|
    Two listeners. Two encounters with what comes when you break the old rules.On Orkney, Isla’s grandmother laid a meal each winter for “the ones the sea kept.” The year her uncle refused, he woke to wet footsteps dripping across the floor, searching the kitchen. By morning: four scratches gouged down the door.Then Beau, a Louisiana crawfisherman, follows a warm light over the night water until a voice calls him back by name. Her father’s voice, three years dead. The light turns pale and gives chase, wailing.Producer Dom unpacks the folklore: the drowned who come home hungry, and the swamp lure that baits the living with a light home.A Create Podcast
  • MONDAY MAILTIME: The Thing That Circled Our Boat & The Harvest Corner We Can't Cut

    21:42|
    Two listeners. Two encounters with something owed a share and what happens when the debt goes unpaid.Merryn, a Jersey fisherwoman, breaks the one rule her father was fierce about: never count the catch aloud at sea. Within minutes, fog rolls in from a clear sky, and something heavy circles the boat just out of sight. Her father calmly puts his three best fish back into the water, murmurs in the old island tongue and the moment the third goes over, the sound stops and the fog lifts.Then Wyatt, a Kansas farmer, always leaves a small patch of the last field uncut — “the old one’s share.” The year a hired man cuts it, a dry rustling like wind through wheat moves through his barn, then his walls. His six-year-old describes “the tall man made of straw” at the foot of his bed, dripping grain, real grains found on the floor each morning.Producer Dom unpacks the folklore: the owner of the sea that claims any catch declared aloud over its water, and the corn spirit driven homeless when the last stalk falls.What happens when the oldest tenant of the land or sea comes to collect its share?A Create Podcast
  • 270. MEET THE MOST HAUNTED TEAM PART 1: Why Does It Always Happen When We’re Around?

    41:02||Season 1, Ep. 270
    A disused courthouse and police station in Accrington. The gates are locked from the inside and only two men are in the building. Then the doors start slamming. Footsteps run down empty corridors, and voices echo through the courtrooms. For forty minutes they chase the noise, convinced someone has broken in. Then they come back to find the camera and tripod they left in a corner have vanished.For more than twenty years, a small band of brave, loyal and slightly bonkers people have followed Yvette Fielding into the most frightening buildings in the world. This week, for the first time, she hands them the microphone. Producer and director Karl Beattie, sound man Darren, cameraman Greg Smith, investigator Stuart and open-minded sceptic Glen Hunt gather around a table with a few stories of its own. They talk about something breathing in their ears at the Leopard Inn, with nowhere left to run. They remember a wheelchair smashing across a corridor and a death rattle Glen can still hear to this day. Yvette is shoved back and forth in the human pendulum. A huge iron table floats, and a wooden floor rolls like waves beneath their feet. And there’s the chair that very nearly took Glen’s head clean off.There’s laughter, a very windy dog called Watson, and the question the team still can’t settle: is something in these buildings listening to them, and choosing its target?Why does it always seem to happen when the Most Haunted team walk in?Is it 100% belief, pushing out an energy something can feed on?Psychokinesis from the living, gathered around a table?Or something in the dark that’s independent, intelligent and capable of choosing who it comes for?Listen, and decide for yourself.📧 paranormalactivitypod@gmail.com | 📱 @paranormalactivitypod🎧 Early episodes + exclusive bonus content: paranormalpod.co.ukA Create Podcast
  • MONDAY MAILTIME: The Bell That Rang Itself & The Lighthouse That Won’t Stay Dark

    21:19|
    Two listeners. Two encounters with something that refused to abandon its post.On a quiet practice night in a 15th-century Cornish tower, Elowen and two fellow ringers sit with their tea. Every rope tied off, every bell hanging dead still and unable to sound. Then the tenor, cast in 1683, rings one enormous stroke. From the sealed chamber above come slow, deliberate footsteps. The next morning she finds a track drawn through years of undisturbed dust from the bell to the trapdoor.Then Marnie, granddaughter of one of Lake Superior’s last lighthouse keepers, keeps getting calls about a glow in the old lamp room. A room with no lamp, no power, nothing to burn for sixty years. It shows only on the black, dangerous nights. Her grandfather swore he’d die before he let that light go dark. An old-timer who knew him: “I don’t think dying changed his mind.”Producer Dom unpacks the folklore: the named bell owed her voice, the tower captain who never came off watch, and the keeper bound to light the drowned home.What happens when the dead don’t haunt a place… they just refuse to stop doing their duty?A Create Podcast
  • 269. YVETTE & KARL INVESTIGATE: The Scientists Who Tried to Phone the Dead

    46:38||Season 1, Ep. 269
    We’re taught that science and the séance room are enemies. Cold reason on one side; candles, trances and table-tipping on the other. But that is not the whole story.This week, Yvette Fielding and her paranormal partner in crime Karl Beattie go somewhere they’ve never taken you before: not a ruined castle or a cold, empty asylum, but inside the minds of the men who built the modern world. The ones who gave us the telephone, the radio, the light bulb and the very theory of evolution — and who spent their nights in darkened rooms, straining to hear a whisper from the other side.Because some of the most brilliant, most sceptical minds our species has ever produced refused to believe that death was the end. Some lost sons and tried to call them back. Some built machines to telephone the dead. Some staked their entire reputations on the claim that the soul survives. So this week we ask the question that unsettles believer and sceptic alike: why did the cleverest people who ever lived look into the dark — and decide there was something there?Yvette and Karl meet six titans of science who walked into the séance room, and never fully walked back out.You’ll hear six journeys from the summit of science into the unknownSir Oliver Lodge - The radio pioneer who lost his son Raymond at Ypres, believed he spoke to him through a medium, and sealed a secret message to transmit back after his own deathSir William Crookes - The President of the Royal Society who measured, walked with, and photographed a materialised ghost named Katie King, and went to his grave insisting she was realThomas Edison - The man who electrified the world and, in 1920, announced he was building a “spirit phone” to the dead, a machine that was never foundAlfred Russel Wallace - The co-founder of evolution itself, who defended the spirits to his dying day and believed a higher intelligence guided mankindNikola Tesla - The electrical genius who heard a rhythmic signal in his mountain laboratory and believed, for a moment, that the universe was listening backAlexander Graham Bell - The father of the telephone, haunted by silence and loss, who made a disembodied voice travel invisibly through the airThen the big question: why them? Why do the coldest, most rational minds keep walking into the darkened room?Grief: Fathers, brothers and husbands who believed death was just one more problem to solveThe age of invisible forces: Electricity, radio waves, X-rays; if those were real and unseen, why not the soul?Curiosity over certainty: The great mind that says not “that’s impossible” but “let’s test it and see”The warning: A brilliant mind is not an infallible one, and a clever person can be the easiest of all to foolPlus this week’s Fact or Fiction, and the Einstein line that stopped Yvette and Karl in their tracks: energy does not die. It goes somewhere.Keep the lights on. And if the phone rings, and there’s nothing but static on the line, you might just want to listen a little harder.📧 paranormalactivitypod@gmail.com | 📱 @paranormalactivitypod🎧 Early episodes + exclusive bonus content: paranormalpod.co.ukA Create Podcast
  • MONDAY MAILTIME: The Doll That Answered Back & The Ground My Dogs Won't Cross

    18:32|
    Two listeners. Two encounters with something that reached out. One through a child, one through the land itself.Bronwen's five-year-old is given an old hand-stitched doll from a neighbour's late mother, names it Sally, and invents "the answering game." Soon Anya is describing a life no child could invent: a coal stove, a copper washtub, a baby brother who "went in the ground." Then Bronwen hears two voices from the room where her daughter plays alone.Then Dale, a Colorado rancher, has kept a dozen dogs that all refuse to cross the same invisible line near an old rise on his land. When drought pushes him to dig there, the third scoop brings up small bones, laid with care. That night, he and his wife hear faint singing from the hollow for one night, then never again in thirty years.Producer Dom unpacks the folklore: the handmade doll that becomes a lodging for a child's soul, and the burial ground that dogs read long before any spade confirms it.What happens when the thing reaching out isn't a threat… just something that wants to be heard?A Create Podcast

  • MONDAY MAILTIME: The Stranger In Our Family Photos & The Clock That Chimes For The Dead

    16:51|
    Two listeners. Two encounters that live on in objects — a photograph, and a clock.Sorting her late grandmother's photos, Georgia keeps finding the same woman: at the edge of a 1911 wedding, in a 1950s Christmas, at the back of her own 1982 christening. Same age. Same dark coat, always half-turned, never named. And her grandmother's lifelong saying suddenly lands: "Count everyone in."Then Colton's granddaddy wound the family clock every Sunday, swearing a clock and a life were tied together. When he died in 2009, it stopped at 4:12. The minute he passed. And the night his grandmother died, Colton heard it chime once in the dark, from a movement a restorer later confirmed was rusted solid and incapable of sound.Producer Dom unpacks the folklore: the "extra one" that follows a bloodline down the generations, and the death clock bound to a house that keeps the time not of a day, but of the family itself.What happens when the thing that walks with your family doesn't haunt a house… but attends every photo and rings every passing?A Create Podcast
