On The Ball - A show about Norwich City

#197 All we want for 2026 is...

The On The Ball Podcast returns for the new year to reflect on an up-and-down Christmas schedule for Norwich City — win, loss, win and finally, loss against Stoke City at Carrow Road on Sunday.

A new year but the same podcasters as Ryan Livermore, Dan Brigham, Zoe Morgan and Steve Sanders put their heads together to determine whether this inconsistency is good or bad for the Canaries’ current predicament, and where they need to strengthen in the January transfer window.

Looking ahead to 2026 as a whole, the team make their wish list for the next 12 months (which does include ‘not being relegated’) plus Ali’s in da house, Zoe’s date with destiny on an icy hill, Camilla Canary, Tony Springett learns his own name, and NO SUBS ALLOWED in Ryan’s latest quiz.

A series of seriously self-indulgent anniversary stats, and it's Earnie's world and we're just living in it... as Ryan resurrects one of his original quizzes: 'Earnshaw or Unsure'.

  • #198 Ahmed, Makama and the Sargent drama

  • #196 A handy four points

    01:31:03|
And just like that, there is hope again. Norwich City have recovered from their Vicarage Road hangover by doing what little imagined they would last week — by being good again (with a helping hand from Jovon Makama). It feels like a corner has been turned.Join Ryan Livermore, Dan Brigham and Zoe Morgan for an "end-of-the-year special" which is being used to justify an exceedingly long podcast that covers near perfection, marvellous messrs Makama & Mattsson, and answers the question: who on earth is El Lappino?
  • #195 Sting in the Hornets' tail

    01:26:17|
Well, this feels new. The On The Ball Podcast reflects on another defeat for Norwich City but this time they were actually decent, before coming unstuck at Vicarage Road with a 3-2 defeat to Watford on Saturday.Steve Sanders, Dan Brigham and Connor Southwell decide to focus on the promising trajectory in performances rather than the table and talk Schwartau's upturn, flying Fisher, pressing matters, Liam Manning's holidays and the return of a hero for our times: Tony Gary Springett.Elsewhere, there's an accidental theme and a quiz in Useful or Useless Mulumbi, the greatest Norwich City comebacks since Lazarus/Springett, back-four conundrums, Linkin Park fans and, like an ultras convention in Brussels, Connor comes armed with some bald Belgians.
  • #194 All for one, one four-point haul

    01:18:59|
The three musketeers of Ryan Livermore, Zoe Morgan and Daniel Brigham dissect the best week in recent Norwich City history, as an Oxford draw preluded QPR being put to the sword. Four points from two big games is an outcome everyone around Carrow Road craved, and our panel talk Clement's communication, Kenny (for once) being the weakest of a good bunch, and Sarge's guaranteed goals at Vicarage Road this weekend.Plus there's a rearranged quiz on Norwich City managerial debuts, the origins of our football love and where on earth have the coloured nets gone?
  • #193 It's Clement-time

    01:26:35|
New manager, same old Norwich City. The On The Ball podcast is on hand again to react to a shoddy Canaries display, with their biggest defeat of the season coming at Birmingham City at the weekend — a 4-1 defeat in new boss Philippe Clement's first game. Good job the new manager bounce is a myth.Ryan Livermore, Dan Brigham, Zoe Morgan and Steve Sanders discuss Duffy's dallying, the hope of Kvistgaarden, and try to unearth a light at the end of the tunnel, courtesy of what our new manager might bring. And then there's Better-Late-Than-Never-Ben's press ganging. "It's on me" etc.Plus, an absolutely mammoth game on Tuesday, Kenny from the halfway line, what's the most creative vegetable, proof that the panel knows nothing about construction, and your best Philippe Clement pun features (none of which were used for the title of this episode, really sorry guys).
