On Japan Time

On Japan Time was created by California natives Michael Larsen and Jordan Johnson at Aichi Toho University in Nagoya city. In our weekly podcast, we discuss life in Japan in a way that provides cultural insights from the perspective of long-time foreign residents. We also feature some English tips for non-native English speakers.

Jordan Johnson

Jordan is a lecturer at a university in Nagoya, Japan and a TESOL specialist. He has been living in Japan since 2011 and has taught Japanese EFL learners of all ages—from kindergarten to university. In his free time, he enjoys gardening, drinking coffee, doing DIY projects, and watching cat videos on YouTube.

Michael Larsen

Born and raised in Sacramento, California, Michael made his first trip to Japan after graduating from the University of California, Berkeley. After three years in Japan, he returned to the USA to earn two Master's degrees. Michael and his Japanese wife have been living in central Japan since 2010.
