Old Mates New Laughs Podcast
ThunderCats – Ho!
Thunder... Thunder... ThunderCats... Ho!
This week on Old Mates New Laughs, we're taking a trip back to Third Earth as we celebrate one of the defining cartoons of the 1980s.
We chat about our first memories of watching ThunderCats, our favourite heroes, villains and episodes, the unforgettable weapons and gadgets, and why the series has remained so popular more than forty years after it first aired.
We'll also discuss the 2011 reboot, whether it's time for another revival, and end with a bit of fun by casting our dream live-action ThunderCats movie.
If you grew up pretending a stick was the Sword of Omens or shouting "ThunderCats, Ho!" around the house, this one's for you.

We'll also be digging into some lesser-known soundtrack gems and asking whether some of the big hitters are actually a little overrated! And then comes the big question... was the 1980s the greatest decade ever for movie soundtracks? Expect plenty of nostalgia, plenty of music, a few controversial choices and, inevitably, a Rocky montage or two! 🎧If you enjoy what we do and want to help us grow — including our goal of becoming a visual, on-camera podcast — you can now support us via Ko-Fi (totally optional, massively appreciated), here's the link should you feel inclined...https://ko-fi.com/oldmatesnewlaughs
