Oilersnation Radio
Oilers lose back-to-back games, still can't score, and Knoblauch's line blender
It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' back-to-back losses, Connor McDavid's scoring woes, goaltending, and much more.
We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate over whether the Oilers have an identity problem. Given how sloppy they've been through the first 10 games, it's fair to wonder why this team cannot figure out how to start a season off on the right foot. Regardless of where you sit with the question, no one on the podcast is particularly concerned, even though the results haven't gone our way. Frustrating? Yes. Worrying? Not yet.
Changing gears, we looked back at the two losses from this past weekend and how the same damned mistakes keep preventing any forward progress. The guys also discussed Connor McDavid's only goal this season and dissected his shot totals from previous years, when he was much more active. While no one on the show thinks this trend will continue, the message from everyone's standpoint was that the captain needs to shoot more. He's too good not to be.
Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia, including some Oilers vs. Utah-specific questions ahead of tonight's game. If you listened to last week's episode, you'll know that BM was way off on one of the questions, which prompted Liam to take on the role of trivia marshall and auditor. Did Baggedmilk get his questions right? You'll have to listen to find out for sure.

509. Oilers demolish the Kraken for their first blowout win of the season
01:07:00||Ep. 509It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' demolition of the Seattle Kraken, line combos, some injury updates, line combos, and much more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about NHL players participating in the Olympics after a cryptic message from Bill Daly basically opened the door for missing the tournament unless Italy gets its rink done. Whether you're hearing about the rink being too small or that it wasn't even ready in the first place, there's some smoke around the idea that the NHL doesn't want its players to participate and is using this as an out. Shifting gears, the guys looked at last night's 9-4 win over the Seattle Kraken and how badly everyone needed that win. From the players to the fans, having the boys crank out their first massive win of the year gave everyone a chance to exhale a little bit. From the big dogs (McDavid, Draisaitl, Nuge, and Hyman) cashing in 12 points to the way Matt Savoie could have had a hat trick himself, there were plenty of of positives to take away from one of the most fun games of the season. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. With the 2025-26 season well underway, the guys spent the bulk of the Friday episode moving through a range of topics, some related to the Oilers and others not, but that’s what happens when the team is playing as poorly as they have been.Checkout the brand new TNN YoutTbe channel!drop a link in the podcast episode: https://www.youtube.com/@The_Nation_Network?sub_confirmation=1Subscribe to the Brand New The Sauce With Ryder & Lisa YouTube Channel!https://youtube.com/@thesaucewithryderandlisa?si=hojCkE4S1rFoSnbvSHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!Powered by @bet365. 508. The Oilers home stand, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' return, and Connor Clattenburg
50:02||Ep. 508It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' upcoming home stand, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' return, Connor Clattenburg sticking with the big club, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about what everyone needs to see from their five-game home stand. With some home games on the schedule for the next week and change, the guys walk through their expectations for this run and whether they can use it to turn the corner. Even if it's not a specific win total, everyone on the podcast just wants the boys to play at a level they're capable of. Changing gears, we looked at Saturday's win over the Seattle Kraken and how the Oilers' big dogs made all the difference. Starting with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' impactful return, the Oilers' longest tenured player was all over the place, and he made an immediate impact with the GWG and an assist while also playing in all situations. We also looked at Edmonton's big four, all getting a goal and an assist in what was one of their most complete wins of the season. Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia, including some Oilers vs. Minnesota-specific questions ahead of tonight's game. If you listened to the last three editions of BM's trivia, you'll know that BM was way off on one of the questions, which prompted Liam to take on the role of trivia marshal and auditor. 507. Oilers blown out on home ice again and we had all week to think about it
01:12:06||Ep. 507It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed goalie rumours, Tuesday's debacle against the Stars, Connor Clattenburg's first NHL goal, more injury woes, line combos, and much more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the goaltending rumours that are circling the Oilers these days, and tried to figure out which of these names would be the best fit for Edmonton. Whether it's Jordan Binnington, Tristan Jarry, or some other name we're not even discussing, there's little doubt that there are risks regardless of who the target may be. Yet, irrespective of what the boys think about the situation, there's little doubt that the noise is getting louder by the day.Shifting gears, the guys looked at Connor Clattenburg's recall so far and how he's making the most of his opportunity through the first two games. Even though he's not a player who will score goals in bunches, there's little doubt that he gives it 1000% effort on every shift he gets. We also talked about the run of injuries that is plaguing the Oilers right now, and how the Hockey Gords don't seem interesting in making our lives any easier. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. With the 2025-26 season more than 1/3 complete, the guys spent the bulk of the Friday episode discussing a range of topics, some related to the Oilers and others not, but that’s what happens when the team is playing as poorly as they have been.SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!Powered by @bet365. 506. Oilers vs. Panthers rivalry, Stars in town, and another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia
01:10:51||Ep. 506It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' inability to play complete games, the lack of offence, the wear and tear from the consistent losses, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about Nick Kypreos' first trade board of the season, which included the Oilers looking at Jordan Binnington as a trade target. Given that everyone knows Edmonton is looking for a goalie, it makes sense that people are trying to figure out the puzzle, but the question everyone on the podcast had was whether he's even better than Stu right now. Changing gears, we looked at the Oilers' win over the Florida Panthers on Saturday and how our boys played with plenty of passion despite being in the final game of their two-week road trip. Starting with AJ Greer, who started scrums but was unwilling to do anything about it, it was hard not to make fun of the guy for writing cheques he wouldn't physically cash. Even so, beating the Panthers they way they did was very encouraging, the boys on the podcast hope it can be the turning point. Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia, including some Oilers vs. Utah-specific questions ahead of tonight's game. If you listened to the last three editions of BM's trivia, you'll know that BM was way off on one of the questions, which prompted Liam to take on the role of trivia marshal and auditor. Can Skinner Change His Habits + How Gear Can Affect Goalies
17:51|Ask Dubey episode 23 is live! Dubey gave his thoughts on the Oilers road trip, why things aren't going right + what has to change. Then Dubey gave his opinion on, is Stuart Skinner too far along in his career to make adjustments to his style of goaltending, who was Dubeys favorite staff members on the oilers, how much can a goalie get in your own head p when you're struggling as much as Pickard is right now, and a loaded question covering all sorts of angles on goalie gear!Don't forget to comment your questions for Devan Dubnyk to answer next week or use #AskDubey on social media!SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!👍🏼Powered by @bet365. 505. The Oilers slide continues but are some positive vibes emerging?
01:12:10||Ep. 505It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers losing four of their last five games they should have won, Darnell Nurse chatter, Paul Coffey, playing soft, line combos, and much more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about which Nation staffer you would trust to perform surgery if a surgeon were unavailable. As you'll hear, a lot of the staff would trust Baggedmilk to get the job done. As for the real delicious debate, the guys looked back at the losses from the week and tried to figure out how much frustration everyone is feeling about the results. Shifting gears to the Edmonton Oilers, the guys started the discussion with a look at goaltending and how it's impossible to praise the goaltender when they play well, given how the season has gone so far. While Calvin Pickard played well against the Tampa Bay Lightning, there were still a bunch of Oilers fans who did not give him any credit despite his best performance of the season. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. With the 2025-26 season more than 25% complete, the guys spent the bulk of the Friday episode discussing a range of topics, some related to the Oilers and others not, but that’s what happens when the team is playing as poorly as they are right now.SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!Powered by @bet365. 504. The Oilers are lifeless and it's bumming everyone out
58:02||Ep. 504It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' inability to play complete games, the lack of offence, the wear and tear from the consistent losses, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about which loss felt worse as a fan of the Oilers: The 9-1 loss to Colorado or the 5-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres. Given that both nights were dreadful to watch, figuring out which of those two stinkers was worse proved to be difficult. As a bonus secondary debate, the guys also tried to figure out how many of the Oilers' 21 games were actually well played. Is the number three good games? Four? Either way, the trend is incredibly troubling.Changing gears, we looked at Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' absence from the lineup and the timeline for his return, which could be until December. Given that he was only supposed to be out for a week, having him miss the bulk of November is certainly a blow for a team that is struggling mightily to score goals. The fellas also looked at other players like Trent Frederic and Andrew Mangiapane, who are expected to fill that void, but they are struggling mightily night in and night out.
