First impression of the newest Oilers, goalie drama, and Baggedmilk's Trivia

Ep. 534

It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed their first impressions of Edmonton's new friends, the latest Oilers goalie drama, previewed Tuesday's matchup against the Avalanche, and much more.

We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about the latest round of Oilers goalie drama, after some quotes from Bob Stauffer circulated on social media suggesting there was some frustration on the ice at practice. While some folks really believe this on-ice back-and-forth 0n the ice is a major issue, while others think getting into it is healthy when things aren't going so well. Either way, the only way to stop the noise would be for the team to start winning.

Changing gears, the guys discussed their first impressions of the Oilers' new friends now that they all have a couple of games under their belt. Starting with Connor Murphy's ability to defend, it's been refreshing to watch a guy take care of his own end first. They also spoke about Jason Dickinson's defensive abilities, and how he actually moves better than everyone expected. While the Oilers only won one of the two games played, it was nice to see the new guys finding ways to contribute.

Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia. With none of the other boys coming up with a game of their own, the guys went back to old faithful with a round of Avalanche-related Baggedmilk Trivia questions. Think you know your Oilers vs. Avs history? This round of trivia was for you. Did the quizmaster have to step in? Did Baggedmilk get his questions right? You'll have to listen to find out for sure.

  • 551. Breakding down the Oilers' Game 6 loss and looking ahead at a busy summer

    01:01:56||Ep. 551
    It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' first-round exit, what changes to expect in Edmonton, line combinations, injury updates, and more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about whether the boys were more frustrated or sad after the Oilers got kicked out of the playoffs in the first round. After making it to the Stanley Cup Final the past two seasons, it's hard to make sense of what went wrong for a team that had much higher expectations for itself. As a second delicious debate, the boys discussed whether Kris Knoblauch will be behind the bench when the 2026-27 season kicks off.Shifting gears, the boys looked at some of the decisions the Oilers made throughout the year, and how some of the moves turned out okay, while others have been complete disasters. Starting with the coaching, the boys wondered whether Kris Knoblauch will be behind the bench when the next season kicks off. Given that there are some quality coaches currently available, would the Oilers want to pull the trigger on that move early to leave their options open? Or will they bring back for another tour, given that his contract extension just kicks in this year?Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. With the playoffs firmly underway, the guys spent the bulk of the podcast moving through a range of topics, most related to the Oilers' off-season, some not, but that’s the way things go on the Friday episode of ONR.📺 Subscribe for Edmonton Oilers coverage, NHL news, playoff analysis, and hockey podcasts🤝 SPONSORS🙌 Powered by Bet365 → http://www.bet365.ca/ (Use code: NATION)🥙 Swiss Donair → https://swissdonair.com/

    43:00||Ep. 550
    Oilersnation Radio is back with another episode as the guys break down a massive moment for the Edmonton Oilers and try to make sense of where things have gone wrong.It starts with a delicious debate before diving into the blame board — who deserves the most heat right now? From injuries to inconsistent goaltending and coaching decisions, nothing is off the table.The conversation also touches on the emotional side behind the bench (because what coach doesn’t get upset with the refs?), while giving credit where it’s due — you can’t disrespect the Ducks and the way they’ve been playing.Despite the situation, there’s still some belief. The Oilers haven’t quit, and this is a team that’s battled back before. The challenge now? Finding the right angle, picking the right starter, and managing ice time properly.They also go around the league, get into some betting talk, and wrap things up with score predictions.📺 Subscribe for Edmonton Oilers content, NHL news, playoff coverage, and hockey podcasts.🤝 SPONSORS🙌 Powered by bet365 → http://www.bet365.ca/(Use code: NATION)🥙 Swiss Donair → https://swissdonair.com/

    Devan Dubnyk is back with the first playoff edition of Ask Dubey, breaking down the Edmonton Oilers’ start to the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs.After a split in the first two games against the Anaheim Ducks, Dubey dives into what he’s liked, what needs to improve, and why there’s still another level coming from this Oilers team. From Connor Ingram’s steady play in net, to Leon Draisaitl stepping up, and Connor McDavid still searching for his top gear, there’s plenty to unpack early in this series.Dubnyk also answers your questions on the biggest differences between regular season and playoff hockey, how Anaheim has managed to slow down Edmonton’s stars, and whether there’s any chance of a change in goal.The playoffs are just getting started—and if the Oilers can clean things up, things could get scary for the Ducks.💬 Got a question for Dubey?Drop it in the comments or use #AskDubey for a chance to be featured in the next episode!👍 Like, subscribe, and stay locked in with Oilers Nation for full NHL playoff coverage, pregame shows, and Oilersnation After Dark all postseason long.🤝 SPONSORSPowered by bet365Whatever the moment, it’s Never Ordinary at bet365.Download the app & use promo code: NATIONhttp://www.bet365.ca/Wilhauk Beef Jerkyhttps://www.wilhaukbeefjerky.com/
  • 549. Oilers special teams struggles, coaching conversations, and and HBD Liam

    01:10:19||Ep. 549
    It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' first two games against the Anaheim Ducks, what needs to change in Game 3, line combinations, injury updates, and more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about how concerned everyone is about the Oilers' inconsistent play through the first two games of the series. While there have absolutely been moments where the team looked solid, the moments where Edmonton's play has dipped have been brutal. It's those lulls when the Oilers' play falters that have been the biggest problems the team has so far. Shifting gears, the boys took a few minutes to talk about the dude who threw the chicken/duck on the ice during the third period, and how it was one of the dumbest decisions anyone could have made. Not only was it dumb to throw something on the ice during the play, but doing it at a moment when the Oilers were buzzing was basically unforgivable. From there, the boys looked at the special teams disaster through the first two games and what the team can do to try to remedy that problem.Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. • 548. Oilers take Game 1, Jason Dickinson shines, and losing Adam Henrique

    01:00:56||Ep. 548
    It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' Game 1 win over the Anaheim Ducks, Jason Dickinson's brilliant playoff opener, and more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about whether the Ducks can hang with the Oilers after the visitors dominated the second period. While the Oilers had a fantastic start to the game, they really took their foot off the gas in the middle frame and nearly allowed the Ducks to steal one. While no one wanted to disrespect Anaheim, the boys thought the Oilers showed why their experience matters. Shifting gears, the boys dug into the details from last night's game, and how it was almost a tale of three games, depending on which period you're talking about. Starting with Edmonton's power play struggles, it was strange to see the boys struggle as mightily as they did with the full group back together. The good news is they'll likely be better than in Game 1. The guys also discussed Anaheim's settling into a hybrid trap system that wasn't really what they were doing for most of the season.Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with a look at a run of different stories, including Adam Henrique going down in the first period, and what that means for the lineup going forward. The boys also looked around the NHL at the other playoff series and picked out some of the biggest storylines through the first few games.Whether it's some of the upsets in Game 1, likelihood of rebounding, or anything in between, there was a lot to discuss on the Tuesday episode of ONR. 🤝 SPONSORS🙌 Powered by bet365Whatever the moment, it’s Never Ordinary at bet365.Download the app & use promo code: NATIONhttp://www.bet365.ca/🥙 Swiss Donairhttps://swissdonair.com/

    01:14:37||Ep. 547
    It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' first round matchup against the Anaheim Ducks, recapping the 2025-26 season predictions, line combinations, injury updates, and more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about how everyone thinks the Oilers' first round will go against the Anaheim Ducks. Starting with our series predictions, all the boys shared their takes on how long they think this series will last and where they think the challenges will be. From maintaining their structure to getting timely goals from throughout the lineup, there are plenty of reasons to believe the Ducks will be more than a pushover.Shifting gears, the boys recapped their pre-season predictions from back in October. As you'll hear, the crystal balls didn't have much magic in them this year. Despite the laundry list of options, predicting things correctly is almost impossible. Even so, the segment as a whole was a blast as the boys had to realize that they're not all that great at predicting the future. Will their failures at predicting deter the group from trying again? Absolutely not.Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. • 546. Oilersnation Radio: Waiting on the Oilers' playoff opponent and start date

    01:09:26||Ep. 546
    It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' potential playoff matchups, injury updates, the final regular-season game against Vancouver, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about which of the five potential playoff opponents the boys would rather face in Round 1. Given the list of potential opponents, features Colorado, Anaheim, Utah, Vegas, and Los Angeles, there is a case to be made for any of those teams being the best starting point. But as you'll hear, the boys really didn't have a consensus on where they would want Edmonton to start. Changing gears, the guys discussed what the schedule might look like for Round 1 and took a few guesses on whether the Oilers will start on Saturday, Sunday, or even Monday. Given that the NHL likes to split up the Canadian teams as best they can, the question is whether the Oilers kick off their run on the weekend or have to wait until Monday. Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia and Tenable. With Liam's game uniting the fellas for one common goal, the guys put their brains together to try to check off all of the items on the list. Think you know all the answers to Liam's Tenable game?
