Live from Dallas - Oilers take Game 1 versus the Stars

Season 2, Ep. 396

The Edmonton Oilers came into Dallas and stole Game 1 last night thanks to a double overtime winner from Connor McDavid. The Oilers did hold a 2-0 lead in the second period thanks to goals from Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman; however, a couple of fortunate bounces from that fell to Tyler Seguin allowed the Stars to tie the game up. Nevertheless, Edmonton found a way to go up 1-0 in the Western Conference Finals.

Along with the McDavid winner, there were plenty of storylines from last night. Stuart Skinner was fantastic between the pipes with a 0.939 save percentage, which was arguably his best game of the playoffs. Additionally, the penalty kill was perfect with huge contributions from the bottom six. Also, the Oilers stars managed to outshine Dallas' top players.

Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin will discuss all of that and more on Oilersnation Everyday, which goes live at noon on the Oilersnation YouTube channel. Want your thoughts on the show? Leave your questions, comments and concerns in the Charm Diamond Centres YouTube live chat. Tyler and Liam strongly encourage you to interact with them throughout the show.

Also on today's show, former QMJHL coach Jon Goyens joins Tyler and Liam to breakdown last night's Game 1 victory. They'll discuss the Oilers successful penalty, how there systems have helped them in the playoffs and a few other notes from the game.

  • 411. Returning home for two huge games versus the Panthers

    01:16:18
The Edmonton Oilers trip down to Sunrise, Florida, couldn't have gone worse. In Game 1 they played well but couldn't beat Sergei Bobrovsky, who stopped all 32 shots he faced. Then in Game 2, there was a glimmer of hope when Mattias Ekholm scored to give the Oilers the lead. However, the belief fell apart after the Panthers scored four unanswered goals to seal the win. Now, the Oilers head back home down 2-0 in the Stanley Cup Final. The last team to be down 2-0 in a Stanley Cup Final and win was the 2011 Boston Bruins. Can the Oilers now find their inner Bruin? After a long travel day yesterday, Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin are back for a new edition of Oilersnation Everyday. They'll go live at noon across the Oilersnation social media channels; however, if you want to interact with them on the show you need to be in Charm Diamond Centre YouTube live chat. Tyler and Liam strongly encourage you to leave your questions, comments and concerns in the live chat throughout the program. Once they've looked back at Game 2, they'll look ahead and bring some positivity to the show. Game 3 goes down tomorrow night at Rogers Place which will be the first Stanley Cup Final game in Edmonton since 2006. What do the Oilers need to change to beat Florida? What happens if Darnell Nurse isn't healthy to play? Should the Oilers make more lineup changes and maybe bring in Sam Gagner?Tyler and Liam will look at all of that and more on Oilersnation Everyday live at noon. 👍🏼 BETWAY👍🏼 GRETA BAR👍🏼 WENDYs👍🏼 Great Clips👍🏼 Sherwood Ford👍🏼 Sports Closet👍🏼 Star Mechanical👍🏼 Charm Diamond Centres 👍🏼 Douglas👍🏼 DoorDash👍🏼Boston Pizza👍🏼Edmonton Stingers👍🏼Horse Racing AlbertaReach out to sales@thenationnetwork.com to connect with our Sales Team and discuss opportunities to partner with us!Visit  www.nationgear.ca for merch and more.
