The Edmonton Oilers showed resiliency last night versus the New Jersey Devils. After blowing a 2-0 lead heading into the third period, the Oilers scored four goals in the final frame to take home a 6-3 win over New Jersey.
While it was Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl that got the scoring started in the third, it was a couple of unsuspecting heroes that added the insurance goals. Adam Erne scored his first of the season in Oilers colours dangling the Devils goaltender to make it 5-3. Shortly after, Ryan McLeod scored his second of the game to take his tally to four on the season.
It was a much needed win for the Oilers, who ended a three game losing streak. Tonight, Edmonton have an opportunity to get back to .500 with a win over the New York Rangers. The Rangers and Oilers meet earlier in the season and it didn't go well for Edmonton. Jonathan Quick stopped all 29 shots he faced helping the Rangers win 3-0.
