Off With Their Headlines

I don't know what blessed astrology I stepped into when I got Omid Scobie to agree to guest-host the pod BEFORE we knew about Prince Harry and Meghan's Nottingham engagements, but there is no one better to talk to than someone who was there back in 2017 for the couple's first royal visit as a newly engaged coupleOmid was an Honorary Member of the Royal Rota for years and is the NYT Bestselling author of "Finding Freedom", "Endgame" and a fictional series co-authored with Robin Benway called "Royal Spin" that has it's paperback release early next year.Omid and I get into today's engagements, the press coverage, what's changed in Royal reporting since he was last in the game and why he decided to put himself back in the narrative (sorry I couldn't resist a Hamilton reference) with his brand-new Substack, Off-Script.Thanks again to Omid and we'll see you next week (Amanda too!)New episodes every Wednesday and Friday! While Amanda is away, we are sharing the Summer Mailbag that aired on Patreon in late August. We just dropped our bonus episode and it's our first ever "Burn Book featuring...Prince William. This one will probably always live behind a paywall so if you want to listen, check it out here: Burn Book: Prince WilliamNew episodes every Wednesday and Friday! It was a whirlwind week of royal reports, scandals, rumors, and appearances…and it all left us wondering, “What if Meghan wasn’t the problem after all?”From (another) security threat seemingly inspired simply by the Sussex family existing in the UK, to allegations of Buckingham Palace taking measures to address “drinking culture” in its staff quarters, it seems that with every passing news cycle we get more evidence all that glitters isn’t, in fact, gold.Plus, updates on a threatened defamation suit against Charles, Earl Spencer, and discussions of Prince William and Prince Harry’s increasingly different approaches to honoring their mother’s legacy.PRE-ORDER THE QUEEN'S COMMAND NOW! https://www.harpercollins.com/products/the-queens-command-sarah-raughley______________________________New episodes every Wednesday and Friday!Listen early & ad-free on Patreon, where you’ll also find exclusive bonus content: https://www.patreon.com/OffWithTheirHeadlinesWatch video episodes for free (a few days later) on YouTube.Feedback or questions? This week is all about comings and goings: Prince Edward makes a return trip to Mount Vernon to mark America's 250th, and WME's Ari Emanuel confirms the agency and Meghan split in 2025. And a social pages photo we somehow missed has us revisiting Natasha Archer's exit from Kensington Palace, plus the Wales equerry who left just before her.______________________________New episodes every Wednesday and Friday! Did the serialization of "Swan Song" do it dirty? How would Charles Spencer's book for his late-sister, Princess Diana, land if Prince Harry's book "Spare" didn't exist? We get into "Swan Song" plus: an op. ed. from an old favorite, an entire article dedicated to Catherine getting off a tractor, the Wales' + their third wheel--Tom Cruise--at the "Digger" premiere, Prince Harry's AI speech snafu in NYC and more.Enjoy!Meredith & AmandaNew episodes every Wednesday and Friday! When every single day of the week brings us a royal “bombshell,” you know it’s time for an OWTH debrief! We’re recapping everything from Earl Spencer’s rebuke from King “Recollections May Vary” Charles, to the overlap in public appearances from Prince Harry, the Waleses, and Charles himself. Plus, some more context on Harry and Meghan’s security struggles since returning to the UK, and a spotlight on the newly engaged Princess Alexandra of Hanover.______________________________New episodes every Wednesday and Friday! Listen early & ad-free on Patreon, where you’ll also find exclusive bonus content: https://www.patreon.com/OffWithTheirHeadlines Watch video episodes for free (a few days later) on YouTube.Feedback or questions?
