• These verses show people avoiding responsibility and acting selfishly. Can you think of examples of this kind of behavior today? What responsibilities do you have in your own life, and what happens when you don’t take them seriously?

• Judah changes when he sees someone more righteous than himself. The thief on the cross finds redemption (Luke 23). What do these stories tell about redemption—about how we are “delivered from the domain of darkness and transferred to the kingdom of his beloved Son” (Colossians 1:13–14)?
