Ocean Protect Podcast

“There will be more plastic in our oceans than fish by 2050”, but where is most of it coming from ? In our inaugural episode, hosts Jeremy Brown and Brad Dalrymple introduce the Ocean Protect podcast, themselves, and drop a few of incredible facts and figures about the health of our oceans along the way. Jeremy Brown is the Founder of Ocean Protect who stop pollution entering waterways by providing end-to-end solutions for stormwater management. Jeremy joined the company 12 years ago when it was named Stormwater360 and has most recently led the company’s rebrand to Ocean Protect. The rebrand helps better reflect the organisation’s purpose beyond profit and its efforts to raise awareness of marine health. With so much focus on single use plastics, Jeremy identified a need to evolve the conservation about waterway health to include how pollution (including, but not limited to, plastic) reaches our oceans and waterways. Over the past 12 years, Jeremy has led various innovation and product developments focussed on creating cost effective ways to protect the environment such as using reusable products and natural alternatives. By applying his technical knowledge with his passion for the environment, Jeremy has led the sector and regularly participates in industry groups and conferences. Brad Dalrymple recently joined Ocean Protect as Principal Environmental Engineer and brings with him over 18 years experience and industry accreditations (RPEQ, NPER and CPEng). At Ocean Protect, Brad’s role is to support the development and implementation of stormwater treatment technologies, asset management initiatives and community education programs aimed at helping to protect marine and waterway health. He is also a lecturer at Griffith University where for the past 12 years he has been responsible for the environmental hydrology and hydraulics subject. Prior to Ocean Protect, Brad was the Senior Environmental Engineer and Manager of the Urban Water Team at environmental services firm BMT. He was responsible for the planning, design and implementation of integrated water management and water sensitive urban design strategies on a range of applications including award winning master-planned communities, catchments and regions. Brad has a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering with First Class Honours from Griffith University.
