Episode 021 - No Labels, No Limits - with Greg Dorst, Authentic Consultant for "The Other Bar"

Season 1, Ep. 21

“So the point is to step into every opportunity that you see, every opportunity that you get. Don't worry about whether or not it might not turn out well. What's wrong with it not turning out well?”

What do King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table have to do with a taxi driver in New York and young man with a dream of being a doctor? How does someone give up practicing law and later become a consultant with a group called “The Other Bar”, made up of alcoholic and drug-addicted to lawyers, judges and law students who need to find a new way? And how does composing and performing original music free someone to be authentic?

Join me in my interview with Greg Dorst as he weaves a path from a dark time to one of great hope and adventure. A great storyteller, Greg’s passion for learning and interest in the human experience emerge as he talks about what it took to turn his life around. Today he is a more compassionate, helpful, and service-oriented man than he was 21 years ago when he was at a low point with no clear way out.

“There was a time in my life when I was practicing law that I was using alcohol to escape from the pressures, the stress, and the difficulties... It made it difficult for me to even want to practice law any longer.” In his usual upbeat, engaging way, Greg shares what he’s learned and how that led to becoming a “change expert” who now works with individuals and organizations that need a path forward.

“I believe that in my own waking up, growing up, cleaning up and showing up, I've found a way to help organizations do the same thing.”

We call them ordinary because we haven't heard about them in the media. But it's those everyday women that are seeking their truth and they're being vulnerable and they're sharing it and, and they just keep going. Even though they hit a wall, they pivot and they try again. They inspire me to keep going." Episode 64 - No Labels, No Limits podcast - with Joe Pettit, Professional Speaker and Nutrition Expert

Season 1, Ep. 64
It’s our honor today to interview Joe Pettit, a Professional Speaker, and a Nutrition Services Expert. He is quickly becoming one of the hottest speakers on resilience, producing results by strengthening your personal development, and leadership. He has an uncanny ability to engage, connect, and inspire audiences. He presents at state and national conferences, nonprofits, and schools. A blogger, entrepreneur, and motivation addict – he’s got an incredibly interesting story. Take a listen. Here are his instructions and advice for a smooth, daily flow, “How you set up your daily routine is how you will be able to conquer your mind, how you start your day and how you end your day. The first thing that I do when I wake up, I just say something that I'm grateful for, what, what is my mission for the day? And then immediately I go into listening to motivational videos. Now, I believe that a couple of things that cause the most friction in the morning is what we wear and what we eat. So, to eliminate this friction, at night I pick out my clothes and iron them. Then, I go ahead and cook and prepare my breakfast so that once I wake up in the morning, it's a smooth process. That is how I make sure the day is aligned.” His last bit of advice is, “Ultimately, I think there's one thing that we forget is that life is long and we need to be really patient, that things don't have to happen right away. But the number one message is to be aware of who you are and be okay with who you are.” Connect with Joe and learn more about his Garden here: www.joepettitinspires.com - get your free ebook on Inspiring Leadership FB: Joe Pettit Instagram: Joe Pettit Inspires LinkedIn: Joe Pettit #cupofjoe #NLNLpodcast #speaker #leadership #beokaywithyou #inpsiration
