Hajar J. Woodland: The Long Voice Note

"Sorry for the voice note...."

Hajar J. Woodland leaves you a long voice note because 'come round for a cuppa' now takes planning. I'm restarting my podcast (The Noisy Hajar podcast) as The Long Voice Note instead of sending my friends separate voice notes. If you're a millennial, you'll probably get it - and you might like this pod. Do groups of women sit around chatting regularly anymore? I was raised with that, but I didn't expect to get to (nearly) 40 and find that something as simple as a cuppa on the sofa would feel like a luxury rather than a staple of everyday life. As possibly the most connected and most disconnected generation there's ever been, voice notes have become a lifeline. It doesn't feel right, and yet, all we can do is adapt to an unexpected reality and talk it through, together.

"Oh my god, can't believe how long I've been rambling on for! No need to respond, I just needed to get it off my chest, hope all's good with you and that we can see each other soon. Sending lots and lots of love!"
