Colts' Injury Woes: Buckner, Gould, Ogletree to IR
•
The Indianapolis Colts have suffered a significant blow with star defensive tackle DeForest Buckners season-ending injury, a herniated disk and compressed nerve. Buckner will undergo surgery and is expected to return in 2023. The team has also placed wide receiver Anthony Gould and backup tight end Drew Ogletree on injured reserve due to foot and neck injuries, respectively.
To fill the void, the Colts have activated special teams standout Ashton Dulin from injured reserve and signed defensive tackle Chris Wormley from the practice squad. They have also elevated center Jimmy Morrissey and guard Josh Sills for additional depth.
Several players, including Dulin, starting tackle Bernhard Raimann, and cornerback Sauce Gardner, have been cleared to play after being questionable. However, the team will be without center Tanor Bortolini, Buckner, Gould, Ogletree, and rotational end JT Tuimoloau for their Week seventeen home game. The Colts are now facing challenges in maintaining their playoff contention due to these injury hits and roster changes.
