  • 7. How the birds set you free - with Sophie Hilaire

    58:30||Ep. 7
    Have your ever wondered how it is to be eye to eye with bird of prey? Well here you go. My wonderful guest Sophie Hilaire knows not only that but is living in true tune with the bird kingdom. She is a falconer, has developed a healing skin care brand called 'Seoul & Soil' and lives with her partner on a homestead in the SW of the US. A beautiful place, that simultaneously functions as heaven for birds. And it seems the birds know of this sanctuary far and wide because not so long ago a rare parrot landed on Sophie's shoulder and decided he wanted live with them. If you ask me, this is the life of all dreams. Luckily Sophie offers us a sweet glimpse of it. She shares about her experiences as a falconer and how it is to meet really close up with the fantastic beings who roam the air, while she is casually dropping a ton of interesting bird facts along the way. We also speak about the role of birds in our society and what we can do to protect them. If you are into birds, or if you simply want to catch some nature wisdom from this powerful woman who embodies her wild femininity as if it was a piece of cake, then tune in. It will forever change your way you think about freedom and how you connect with the bird kingdomAnd if you got curious, you can dive deeper into Sophie's work on Youtube and follow her on instagram. This adventurer, explorer, and animal communicator tells us the stories we all want to hear  - about how it is to meet the wolves, the polar bears, and the arctic cold as well as the golden summers up in the Arctic. And you will also hear about the 1st nation Swampee Cree, who are his mentors, friends, and guardians of the land where the wolves and polar bears roam. Deep wisdom is shared in this episode as we are just scratching the surface of the rich stories Jad holds as the magnificent storyteller he is. If you want learn more about Jad or reach out to him, which I can truly recommend, you can do so via his Instagram: jaddavenport or via his website: jaddavenport.com. • 4. Silveira Tech Regeneration Village - with Manuel Vilhena

    35:46||Ep. 4
    When your purpose calls, you listen. Or I guess you'd better do. After studying in the Netherlands, Manuel returned back to Portugal, where he quickly realized that his life's work was not found in the corporate world but in working with the land and bringing people back to it. Come and follow us deep into the Portuguese mountains of Serra da Lousã, where a family of entrepreneurs started the regeneration of the land and several shist villages to offer a space for entrepreneurs, companies, artists, and the digital crowd to regenerate nature and themselves. This project is about disrupting the way we look at work, community and nature. Not in a hippie kind of way, more in the fantastic way punk rock does it. Quick, strong and with lots of humor.
