Ep. 309 - Elliot Steel

Elliot Steel is a stand up comedian and comedy writer. Elliot is the son of Mark Steel, who’s also been guest on My Time Capsule! Elliot is a veteran of British comedy having started in stand up at the age of 16. He’s performed all over the world since then, including the Latitude and Reading Festivals, The Comedy Store in London, Hot Water Comedy Club, Top Secret Comedy Club and the Edinburgh Fringe, where he can be seen again this year. Elliot has appeared on Comedy Central's Roast Battle and voiced Ashley on BBC Radio 4's Unite which he co-wrote with Ivo Graham, his dad and Barry Castagnola. He can also be heard on the podcast, “What The F*** Is Going On? with Mark Steel”. Elliot was described by the Independent as “the one to watch’ .

    Kim Leadbeater MBE has been a Labour MP since 2021. She is MP for Batley and Spen which is where her sister, Jo Cox, also sat until her tragic murder in June 2016. As of June 2023 she is chair of the all-party parliamentary groups on Sport and Tidy Britain, co-chair of the groups on Political Literacy and on Tackling Loneliness and Connected Communities. In 2020, she was appointed President of West Yorkshire Scouts. In 2018, Kim was awarded the UK's one thousandth Points of Light award by Prime Minister Theresa May for having "rejected the hate that marked her sister's murder to continue Jo's work and ensure that Jo's determination to change the world has lived on." In the 2021 New Year Honours, Kim was appointed MBE and The Spectator named her as 2021's "Newcomer of the Year".     Catherine McCafferty is an actor and stand-up who splits her time between LA and NYC. This summer (2024) Catherine will be taking her solo show: (Not) That Bad, to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Recently Catherine wrapped her second feature a queer rom-com: Crush streaming now on Hulu. She had the pleasure of attending the Austin Film Festival with an original script she wrote, and has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, Dallas Comedy Fest, Portland Comedy fest and the Vail Comedy Fest.
