The Giants of Patagonia are based on European accounts from the 16th to 18th centuries in which explorers encountered unusually tall Tehuelche individuals and mistook them for supernaturally large people. The reports were reinforced by the fact that the Spaniards themselves were considerably shorter and that the Tehuelche wore layers of fur and large boots that increased their apparent size. Misunderstandings surrounding large megafauna fossils later contributed to the legend of an extinct race of giants. Archaeology, however, shows that no humans in Patagonia taller than approximately two meters have ever been scientifically documented. Nevertheless, the myth lives on, often intertwined with theories about lost civilizations and extraterrestrial influence.

The discoveries consist of walls, streets, and artifacts that have been dated to several thousand years BC, sparking debate about India's earliest civilizations. For believers, Dwarka is evidence that the myth has a basis in reality, while researchers see it as a symbol of how history and religion intertwine.

The far side of the Moon, the part that always faces away from Earth, was first discovered in 1959 by the Soviet Union's space probe Luna 3, which photographed its cratered and dark surface. Unlike the near side, it almost completely lacks the large, smooth "maria" plains, which has raised questions about why the two sides are so different. During the 20th century, alternative theories emerged suggesting that the far side could conceal bases, structures, or technological remains of extraterrestrial origin.
